And if quarantine upon arrival in the UK is so vital, why has it not been for the last 2 months and why wait another 3 weeks before requiring it? So, on or around 1st June airlines may plan to begin flying down to Faro, but any passengers from UK will have to go into quarantine upon return to that country. Passengers will be few, if any.

I can understand the Republic being exempt as the border on the island is so open. And we still have the Common Travel Area Agreement with them. But France? Travellers could have come from anywhere by road or rail to cross from France . |

Good question. For the tourist and holiday airlines, do they wait for their destinations to 're-open' and then start flying? Or do they start flying and hope the destinations will re-open because they will have holidaymakers coming? But this kind of thing is not going to help the image - https://www.portugalresident.com/algarve-councils-want-to-hire-private-security-guards-to-monitor-beaches/

.
O'Leary also said he aimed to sell all seats on the flights and it was important that families were seated together. mmmm, when he normallly separates families who don't prebook seats to sit together. Wonder how that will work, maybe he will make it mandatory for you to prebook seats. Plus the toilet situation, no queueing and toilets must be sanitised after each use. I can see quite a few passengers sat in their seats with crossed legs, or a mess appearing on the floor. He also said majority of passengers who's flights had been cancelled for March had received their refunds. Think he's telling lies, you only need to go on the many Ryanair complaints pages on facebook to find lots are still waiting for refunds from early March.

A short time ago. "EasyJet has admitted that a "highly sophisticated cyber-attack" has affected approximately nine million customers. EasyJet said it first became aware of the attack in January. The firm told the BBC that it had only been able to notify customers whose credit card details were stolen in early April." |

No doubt waiting for Boris to decide whether to put arrivals from Portugal into quarantine. There might not be many customers. No point in flying here for a holiday if that's to be the case. Meanwhile anyone desperate to come to Portugal there are daily flights from London Heathrow to Lisbon with BA and TAP, from Stansted with Ryanair. But then you have to figure out how to get from Lisbon with only two trains and three coaches a day running eg to Albufeira. A reminder too that if the current rules are still in force when flights resume, masks will be compulsory in the terminal buildings and on coaches, taxis etc. Body temperature scanners are used to screen all arriving passengers.

Unlucky Algarveaddick....
EasyJet are still doing their cancellation of flights on a 7 day rolling basis. I’m sure you are aware Ryanair are still flying Stansted to Lisbon. Not ideal I know.

Just received email from Ryan Air cancelling our flight on 17th July from Birmingham to Faro. Wonder if they will go back on sale nearer the time and 10 times the price?

I am not due to come to Albufeira till September so hopefully some normality will have prevailed by then. As I am driving there i will have no problems with flights, only the ferries and if I can get through Spain.

Here you go those of you that use EasyJet, from 15th June for them they start feeding back in, even ahead of O’Leary.

Am I right that pilots have to fly a certain number of hours per month or something else they lose their licence? Perhaps that's another issue airlines have to contend with.
