Clube Monaco just decided to start doing a load of work on their roof in time for the height of season. It's not an emergency, as they have been preparing for it for quite a while. Dim as a Toch H lamp...

The above mentioned Alisuper in Acoteias has reopened this morning.
It's now an Intermarche Contact store.
Good news - at the very least it can't be worse than the Alisuper was and it'll probably be much better.
I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Looks like Ali Super are selling out. Most of you know that the store opposite the health centre was taken by Pingo Doce. In addition, their store opposite the old cemetery next to the Arte Bar is now an Intermarché Contact.

Any further info about other Ali Supers gratefully received.

The Supermercado Central in the old town opposite Hotel Baltum has re-opened following repairs after the flood.

The Ali Super(market)in Avenida Liberdade (old town) by the bus stops and taxi rank has closed down. A sign on the door says "Open Sooner" and that was dated 31st March.

Likewise the Ali super in Rua Das Telecomunicacoes, they are claiming they are "stocktaking", but have been shut over a week. The word on the street is that a new owner is taking that one over, whether that applies to all, I don't know?

Some painting going on at the one I mentioned yesterday. The branch in Rua Alexandre Hurculano (near the old Kilt & Celt) is also closed.

The one in Rua Das Telecomunicacoes has a Spar sign up now, the one in Rua Alexandre Herculano doesn't.

I shall examine the former prior to my arrival at One 4 the Road for the evening's cultural activities.

Their new shops are not listed on their website but interestingly neither is the one in Rua Dunfermline near the Forte do Vale, which has been open for a while.

Anyone who spots a new Spar, do tell and preferably with opening times!
