Xchange rates in Albufeira are generally about 5-6c less than the business rate Xchange rates in UK are normally about 2-3c less than the business rate, near me The Money Shop guarantees the best rate in town. 2 weeks ago business rate was 1.11ish i got 1.089 in the Money Shop |

Would anyone recommend changing money in Albufeira instead of doing it at home ?
We normally get our cash changed in UK before we go (we use Marks & Spencers) Just wondering if we'd get a better exchange if we wait until we get there? Any thoughts? |

Such is the reality of modern economics.
It is no co-incidence that the countries popular with Brits (and Scots) for cheap holidays are also those afflicted by financial woes and whose problems are affecting the exchange rate. They have been living in a dream world for years and now it's reality check time. By dream world I mean bloated public sector employment, retirement at 50, mass tax evasion not pursued, unfunded pensions... What are they going to do when the tourists stop coming? I digress. This is the lowest rate for over a year. Signs are not good. But, having only 9 pints a day instead of ten should redress the balance. I will check the rate for cash later. Commercial rate today 1.1119 Have a nice day. |
