Elaine if you have one near you check  The Moneyshop they always seem to do one of the best rates.

Going off your experiences where is the best place to exchange money as everyone seems to be getting different rates. I want to be able to collect it from somewhere local. Even Tom seems to be getting a decent rate in Albufeira, should I wait until I am over there.Confused

me too ..... hope it goes up a tad more in the next two weeks!!

BBC news today - Leading bureaux de change are selling euros at a rate of 1.20 to the pound for the first time in three and a half years.   They are predicting that it should reach 1.27/28 in the coming months and perhaps 1.30 by autumn time.  Smile

Well €10 better off if you change a grand sterling and that's if you're taking a grand, you're just ten euro's better off.

An increase of 1 cent (e.g. 1.22 versus 1.23) = £10 on £1,000

Well that's 4 free large beers on Bar Street, Old town - not that I'm countingSmile

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

The current trend, and forecast is for it to continue strengthening so you could wait but, unless you're talking a very large amount of dosh, the few cents it is moving aren't going to make a great deal of difference to you so I'd say take it whilst it's there.
That said, I'm not an IFA or qualified in anyway to offer such advise, so don't blame me! LOL!
