I am sure you will pleased to know that the lagoon is as full as I can remember. Picture taken yesterday afternoon. There is still some machinery pottering about, scraping away at the edges and some blokes were working on the dune where the pipes go. I have some more pictures to sort out.

You must be psychic ... We've just come back from the lagoon and I was going to post asking you what is it they are doing there ... Is it drainage?

Great pics! Did you spot any turtles or have they all gone do you think?

I did see  a turtle yesterday in fact. It was difficult as the water is the colour of pea soup. I took a few pictures, here's just one. I will sort the rest out tonight.

The rehabilitation work seems to have been left unfinished. All the workmen and plant have  left site, leaving loads of pipes and stuff laying around, several large unfilled holes and trenches and also a portable toilet.

Rest of the Salgados pictures shortly.

On my way back I stopped by São Rafael. The beach restaurant there will be-open this Sunday for those who go there. This was the view.

Now look at the middle. I zoomed in on this rather odd sight.

A passing member of the Policia Maritima on his dirt bike seemed rather non-plussed. Various well dressed people were decamping from cars up in the car park, including various gentlemen in traditional Scots attire.

As I cycled up the road a few minutes later I was passed by a Policia vehicle, no doubt summonsed by the patrolman to ensure that the people had the 47 licences needed to put decorated tables and chairs on the beach.
