Tom it can't be any worse than north West UK today, absolutely hammered it down, our back garden was flooded, so think yourself lucky, it more than likely will be sun shining tomorrow for you, but doubt very much that will happen in UK

Bad news!

Anyway, I am sending that storm we just had back to the makers. Passed over already and it has stopped raining. However, the friendly local weather station recorded 1/2 inch of rain in about an hour.

There's nothing else coming our way by the look of it, but a large nasty lot of stuff will cut across the Alentejo and towards Lisbon later. Spoke to a couple who were in Fatima yesterday and it was throwing it down there as well.

Up with lark today and it is uniformly grey and horrible out there. Windy too, gusting at almost 20mph. It's still warm though, 70F once again and very humid, which is why I woke up early. There was no more rain to speak of after that little stormette last night.

There's a whole bunch of showers around, mostly to the south-west so we might not get the worst here. I think it is going to get rather wet around Lagos and Sagres. Here it is going to rain at some time or other.

Today's high 24C/76F but unless the sun comes out it won't feel like that and it probably won't be beach weather.

Hmm. The wind has shifted round to the south-west and that's where there are four pretty wicked looking little storms showing on the radar, with a much larger area of rain around them. I think your wish will come true sooner rather than later.

0834 - started raining.

Thats mad - I was touting last night and saw loadsa lightning from 8.30pm in Montechoro and then lots on way home. Only had a drizzle of rain tho at home and was lucky to have missed it in town.  Murky and grey up my end this morning if you'll pardon the phrase!

1350 and I have made it back from the shops just in time by the look of it. Thunder rumbling, skies dark grey and its just starting to rain again.

The weather radar is showing one more lot of heavy showers just off the coast and the map shows the Algarve to be on orange alert for excessive wind and rain.

Welcome holidaymakers. I wonder what the reps say to the happy travellers when they board their coaches and its 'issing down and generally bleak and horrible?

Yes last night was a bit odd. Lightning was bouncing around all over but here we just had that short, sharp burst of rain late in the evening.

Doesnt sound good, checked the weather on the bbc and for thursday onwards it gives it to be sunny, is that pretty much what you are getting your way cubsur?  Not liking the sound of all this wet weather, i know another lot who went out to portugal somewhere east of faro on tuesday wondering did they get the brunt of the strorms too?
Heading out again on May 24th and Oct 5th in 2014!!!

And there's more rain on the way. A big lump of rain is about 50km or so to the south bearing down on the Algarve.
