They must be young or bad memory to think last 4 weeks has been worst weather they remember. In the Winter of '94, '95 or '96 (yeah bad memory!) it rained everyday from the end of November until the end of february. River was up and over the road bridge in Paderne and there was a place nearby where the river (which had been bone dry) had broken it's banks - 4 meters tall, and the adjacent orchard was under 1 meter of water It really was the wettest winter!

Pete, they said “for the time of year”, they were talking March, not the winter per se.

All change today. It’s overcast but very mild. Already 13 degrees, no breeze. The forecast is for light rain and breezy, we may well have some rain with all this cloud but so far no breeze, dead still and very mild, with 16 predicted for later but as I keep saying, the reality so far this week has been several digits higher than the forecast figure. I blame Tom, he’s bringing the cloud back with him! 😉

Update at 10.10am. It's got brighter, but misty and now drizzling! Not a good weather day at all.

Had a trip down to Faro, it has persisted down all day there, really low cloud and incessant rain. As we drove back it’s improved with every mile. It’s dry here now, very mild, the sun occasionally breaks through a bit of cloud but it is still very overcast. Poorest weather we’ve seen for some time.

That’s better! The sun has got his hat on and is coming out to play! Some cloud, light breeze, sunshine, no rain forecast, 11 degrees already, 17 forecast for later but, even yesterday, the forecast figure gets beaten. Nice day, off to enjoy.

I second that. It was a bit cloudy an hour or so ago, looking better now. It is quite breezy up here, some cloud around. The radar does show a few showers out to the west and north-west and in fact there is a big black cloud behind me as it were. It is raining to the north of Armação de Pêra, heading our way. Temperature at 0925 is 14.4ºC. It will be fairly cloudy all day, max 17ºC.
Tonight will be between 9 and 11, staying dry. Sunday and Monday will be less cloudy, should be dry, a bit warmer in the daytime maybe even 20ºC! But colder at night. A few dry days should follow, then a pretty big chance of a wet Easter is on the cards.

It’s pouring down in Acoteias as I type. Probably the worst week of weather we have seen in many years of coming to Portugal. Reservoirs may be filling nicely, but can’t say the garden likes the weather any more than we do. Everything is waterlogged.

Could be some more showers today. It is fairly bright overhead at the moment but cloud is building from the west. Temperature at 0915am is 14.2ºC. There is a light breeze. It won't be quite as cold as it has been, we may have 20ºC later if the sun comes out, which it should so this afternoon.
Tonight, down to between 9 and 11.
Monday and Tuesday should be dry, temperature up to around 20 or even 21. Wednesday and Thursday should be OK also, but more rain is forecast for Friday and the Easter weekend.

Great day in prospect. Dead quite and still, not a breath of breeze, the garden fire we can see has the smoke going vertically up, no deviation at all. Sun out, burning off the light fuzz/cloud that is high up, high teens if not 20 or more later and better forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday, bring it on!

Yes a reasonably decent day at last. Mostly blue sky, just a few trails of very high cloud. Temperature at 1125am is 14.6ºC, will feel hotter in the direct sun. My washing is getting nicely dry in a gentle breeze. We could indeed see 21º later. Faro Airport was the warmest place on the mainland yesterday at 20.3ºC.
It won't be very warm tonight, wind is coming from the north, temperature could fall to as low as 8ºC. The next couple of days could see temperatures rise to 23 or even 24ºC! Make the most of it. From Thursday it becomes colder again, with a very strong chance of rainy days from Friday and over the weekend.

It´s a bright start to the day, not a cloud to be seen. Temperature at 0745am is 12.3ºC, there is a steady light breeze.
Forecast shows we could have as many as 26ºC today! From one extreme to the other in just a few days. Fairly cold again tonight under the clear skies, somewhere around 9 to 11 again. Tomorrow will be similar to today but with some cloud coming in later, then Thursday could be a lot cooler as a cold front comes down across the country. That front is expected to bring rain on Friday with cloudy and damp days to follow, as befits a holiday weekend!

Agreed. Walked the beach at Gale this morning and it was glorious. Back on the terrace With a beer or two to chill before tonight's refreshments. And more hot weather forecast for tomorrow too. 😎
