2pm and it is even nastier! I am not going out there. Flags and trees are waving furiously and the rain is coming in horizontal.

We would normally view the streaming webcam at the Hollandaise Bar when we want to check out what the weather looks like........usually when we are depressed and need to take a peek at the sun !!!  Unfortunately the Hollandaise bar is closed for the winter so we are out of luck there.Cry  ......anyone know of any other good streaming webcams in Albufeira?

Or Perhaps we could call on 007 not%20worthy
Your mission Mr Cubsur,  should you wish to accept - would be to set up a weather webcam for all of us sad people who just sit at home and dream.

Sunday looks like being a better day than yesterday. It couldn't be much worse. There is some rain around but a lot less of it and if the wind holds direction, it could miss Albufeira altogether. The far west - Lagos, Sagres etc - is still going to be rather soggy.

It's currently 12C/54F with some cloud around. Not as windy as yesterday and the sun has just come out, which improves the outlook no end.

Sorry I don't know of any webcams in Albufeira. There was one in Carvoeiro but Ii have lost its location.

I can't really set one up here as I face due south and you wouldn't see anything for the sun!

Trust me not to see something so simple!

It rained a little just now and a big black cloud passed west to east out to sea.

Had a look at the Carvoeiro webcam .......not quite as good as the Hollandaise one which is 100% live and streaming.  But still gives me a chance to gaze at the computer screen and dream.

Cubsur, just to make you feel even better.....the garden of our home here in Northern Ireland faces south...and its still white with Frost !!  Burrrr Burrrr

I keep watching the long range weather forcast and will keep my fingers crossed that the weather in Albufeira improves for Christmas and New Year.  Mind you - its always at least 10 degrees better than the UK.

When I surfaced at 730am it was only 8C/48F and grey clouds were covering the sky. Since then, it's now 1010, the clouds have gone and it is fairly bright out there. Still a chilly 9C/50F though and the fairly stiff breeze is making it feel colder.

It might warm up a bit to 14C if the suns stays out, which by the look of the radar screen it should so and it will be dry today.

Hi Cubsur,

You say "when you surfaced" and "by the look of the radar screen" where do you live, on a submarine ?!!!  Smile

Surfaced - stuck head from out under duvet tentatively. Often associated with the consumption of alcohol the previous night but not in this case. It was not warm.

Submarine no but it might be interesting!

Even more tentative this morning as at 0830 it was just 6C/44F.  Bright and sunny but a chilly wind from the north. Forecast high is 15C/59F but it won't feel like that. Another dry day.

The radar by the way, for those who don't know, is on the Portugal Met Office website at www.meteo.pt

It was a really nice afternoon yesterday and as you might have seen from a picture under the 'works' topic, it was warm enough for the beach. Probably felt like a hot summer's day for the English kids digging in the sand.

Much warmer this morning, 10C/50F already. Wind from the north-west, no rain around and the high today will be about 15 or 16C/60 ish in F, Dry as well so another fairly pleasant day in prospect. Looks set fair for the next 2 or 3 days at least.

6C/44F at 8am and a bit misty outside. But the sun is up and when the mist has burned off, it will be another bright, sunny and dry day with maximum temperature around 16C/60F.

Jealous anyone?

It's warmer than yesterday at 10C/50F as I write. Not a cloud to be seen. Wind from the NE, so it won't feel as warm as the forecast high of 17C/62F. Not a speck of rain the sky within 200 miles so a dry day is in order.
