How does that feel Cubsur?
I think I have forgotten what it's like to be warm

It's another grey, damp and cold morning here in Albufeira. It's been raining during the early hours and there is more on the way. In fact it has just started raining quite hard as I type.

Current temperature 8C/46F rising to 13 or 14C, 55 - 57F maybe later today.

Wind still from the north-west, very light.

It might be a bit better tomorrow!

Cubsur, I am staying in the Calicos area in July and whilst I realise it is a little way out of town, is there much in this area in the way of restaurants, bars, shops etc or will it need to be a trip into town every night.
I've stayed in Albufeira old town four times previously, but my last visit was 14 years ago (in the Vila Recife) and so with all the changes since then, am not quite sure what to expect.

Thanks

Jackson

Jackson - I will reply to you later as I am off to the dentist in a minute.

Weather - currently 15C/57F according to my thermometer but it doesn't feel that as the skies are grey and it is rather cloudy.

Wind fairly strong from the SW and there is a chance of some rain later. Skies are clear for the time being.

No so the north of the country where a fairly violent storm front is crossing. Anyone flying today is in for a bumpy ride.

Jackson - see the Restaurants topic for my reply about Calicos.

It's rather grey and threatening looking out over the sea!

taken 5 mins ago outside, in direct sunlight. Yes, the sun has reappeared!

Annie, forecast is good for next 4 days but plenty of weather sites on web to look at for longer forecast.

if you visit my web site below, scroll down and there is a weather symbol and chance to click 10 day forecast.

Well at noon today it was 15C/60F out the back in the shade. I don't know about 30.6C out the front but at last my washing is getting dry!

The sun is out but it is rather cloudy outside at the moment. The radar shows no rain within 200 miles. We did have a few spots of rain yesterday evening and more overnight but it should stay dry today.

The wind is all over the place, mainly from the north at the moment and fairly strong.

Fingers crossed but it does very much look like we have seen the last of the really bad weather and that the next few days will be dry and fairly sunny, with the temperatures in the low 60's by the weekend. That's about average for the time of year, so nothing special but welcome nevertheless.

The direct sun temp on our  thermometer does get up to 30degrees but this cannot be taken as true indication of how warm it is.
The " official " temp is taken in a constant location in the shade and is obviously more accurate.
The best indicator is " can I wear a short sleeve shirt or not ".
Nightime temps next week close to freezing, the price paid for warm sunny days at this time of year.

Well you will be able to wear a short-sleeved shirt this afternoon!

For the first time in ages, I can report bright sunshine and clear blue skies! It's not particularly warm yet - just 8C/46F at 830am but expected high today is 18C/64F. Wind variable but mainly from the north, so it might seem cooler than that. There is no rain around at all.

Tonight it will be cold, down to 6C/42F.

Thursday and Friday will be more or less the same but maybe not as warm in the northerly wind. But the golfers will be pleased.
