Well it looks like being a much better day today! At 0930 it was 9C/48F, about average for the time of year night-time wise. The most important thing is that there are only a couple of isolated showers around, rather than a whole lot of rain, so most of the region should stay dry.

It's is blowing half a gale from the north-west, so any rainy bits will move on quickly. The clouds are fairly hurtling along.

Today's forecast high is 18C/64F which again is about average for early March.

Things will continue to improve over the weekend and the forecast is for a very nice day on Sunday with temperatures around the 22C/71F mark.

Yesterday wasn't quite as rainy around here as elsewhere but I still got a bit wet watching the football yesterday evening.

As of now, 0920 Thursday, it is 13C/55F. It has been raining overnight and looking out of the window I can see the grey clouds scudding off into the distance over teh sea.

It's fairly bright at the moment, but there is a line of showers to the north which will cross the region later. It might just be a matter of luck whether or not you have to take cover.

It is still very windy, so if it does rain it won't be for long.

Tomorrow it should be a bit better with a few sunny periods and Saturday better still with temperatures up around the 20C/65F mark, which is about average for this time of year.

Too true and it looks like we are in for a couple of fairly nasty wet days!

0930 and after a short power cut, I can tell you it is 11C/52F and raining hard. The radar shows a large showery mass to the north and west, which is where the wind is coming from. It will become very windy with gusts of maybe 70kph.

The whole of the north of the country is on alert for high winds and fairly heavy rain on a northerly airstream and some of that will get down here over the next 36 hours or so. Anyone flying during that time might be in for a bumpy ride.

So a couple of rainy, windy days then (we hope) getting better towards the weekend.

It has been raining here a bit to the west of Albufeira ( heavy at times ) since yesterday afternoon.
A bit of brightersky can be seen to the east.

But all the locals say that it is needed and they woulr like to see much more as the very heavy rain in Jan mostly ran off and did not soak into the ground.

Pah! It rained on me last night playing football, it rained on me on the way home from the alehouse and it has been raining steadily since the early hours.

I would not trust a 15 day forecast. On Thursday last week we had a forecast of heavy rain and thunderstorms for the weekend which turned out (here at least) to be really nice. But we can hope.

So, as I said, at 0815 it is raining hard. The sky is fairly black. The radar shows a whole lot of rain to the north, which is direction the wind is coming from. It looks like being a rather damp day for most of the region.

Current temperature 9C/49F and we might get 14 or 15 this afternoon even though it won't feel anything like that in the rain and damp.

Well it isn't very nice for sure! 1120am and it is a cool 8C/56F, fairly grey and cloudy with it. We might get 14 or 15 this afternoon if the sun breaks through.

There's virtually no wind and looking out to sea I can see some darker clouds on the horizon.

The radar is showing a huge mass of rain to the south and east of us. If it moves slowly as it seems, we are indeed in for two or three rainy days. The good thing was that the weekend was much better than expected, hereabouts anyway.

Well it didn't rain here yesterday but I am told it rained almost everywhere else!

There are a lot of showers around, so it's going to be a matter of luck today if we stay dry.

Current temperature 13C/55F, thin cloud and a big blue bit over to the west.

Should rise to 16 or 17 this afternoon if the sun comes out.

Forecast for Monday and Tuesday has been revised to indicate the possibility of the showery weather continuing for another couple of days.

Saturday morning and it's 15C/60F, hazy and cloudy. The weekend weather forecast has been downgraded from heavy rain and thunder to, well, just rain. Showers over the next 48 hours are what's now expected.

There's very little wind and the rain that is out there will be slow to arrive.

It will clear up by Monday.

4.20pm and it is raining lightly here in Pateo.

Fingers crossed it won't be horrible at 5.30pm tomorrow night. The match will be bad enough - heavy defeat predicted for England followed by much gloom and darkness.
