It's OK for me, it's just nice to know what's open and what's not during the holiday period.

Well that sunny period didn't last long! 1049 and it is lashing down once more. I can barely see across the road.

Fingers crossed for a sunny 25th Dec. we are fully booked and could do with sunshine so we can use our terrace.
We have 30 spare meals for walk in clients who have not booked if weather good.
Happy Christmas from The Cottage, Montechoro.

There was another 3/4 inch of rain during the night in the form of a couple of heavy showers. It's much brighter this morning as promised but more rain later.
It's 15C/59F, bright sunshine for the most part but some cloud starting to build up in the distance. Wind fairly blowy, from the SW, which is where the rainclouds are developing.
So, gradually clouding over as the day goes on with showers and longer periods of rain through the night and into Wednesday. Easing off later on Wednesday with more sunny intervals than rain. Thursday the odd shwoer or three and the possibility it seems of a sunny Christmas Day.
Hah! just as I was typing the sun has gone behind a fairly large grey cloud.

Best to get it all out of the way before we arrive
If rain could be exported, Ireland would be the richest country in the world.

Indeed. I reckon we have had more rain this past couple of days than the whole of the last 6 months put together. It rained a bit more later this afternoon but is stopped now.
The last band of heavy rain is now heading off towards Morocco and there are only a few showers in its wake.

1253 and it is not raining! Hasn't been for an hour or so now. It's very murky out to sea and it looks like one lot has passed us by. There is one more band of rain on the way then it's clear.
The whole of the north of the country is getting a serious soaking meanwhile!

Yes it is a truly delightful morning here in Albufeira. The rain last night eased off around midnight but started again in the small hours with a few rumbles of thunder at 5am. We have had nearly 2" of rain since it started yesterday afternoon.
But it's a lot warmer. At 3pm yesterday it was 9C/49F when I set forth to an alehouse. At 9pm last night it was 16C/61F.
As I write (1015am) it is 15C/59F (but feels colder), it's raining steadily from leaden skies but not as hard as it was an hour or so ago. The wind is from the south-west from were there is a tidy bit of rain yet to hit us. It won't get any warmer with the sun obscured by cloud.
It looks as if there might be a brief break in the rain tomorrow but heavy rain is back on Wednesday for the rest of the week.

It has rained heavily since yesterday afternoon and is still raining.
The weather system that is giving the UK its bad weather is pushing the storms over S europe.
More to come over the next few days hoping it will get better by thursday.

Oh dear, bet the road is flooded then outside my house. Never been the same since they dug it all up to put the electricity cables through for Villa Branca complex, seems they don't have knowledge of a level surface, or one that drains into the road grids, this is one of my email gripes with the council, but they don't listen, no reply, just pay your council tax on time otherwise you will be fined. Sorry Off Topic.

It's not as good as grim here in Albufeira. I was trying to watch Benfica v Porto but my satellite TV signal keeps breaking up. Lights are flickering all the time.
Wind is howling. 1 1/2 " of rain has fallen since it started around 5pm.

It's a fairly grey and cloudy morning here in Albufeira. it went down to 3.6C/39F last night and is currently 6C/43F at 1030am. The wind is starting to pick up and is from the east/south-east so it will get warmer as the day goes on.
But that wind will bring with it the rain that is currently lurking off our shores. So this afternoon expect a rise in temperature to about 15C/59F, which is about average for the time of year, but stronger winds and some showers.
The outlook for the next week is still pretty gloomy, with rain expected every day.
