Now over a year since we have been there and really missing Albufeira. Perhaps those of you in residence could give a sense of current visitor numbers and where they are from.

Overall numbers down due to lack of British and Irish, but those voices are still heard. French is more often heard (I welcomed a French couple with a baby for a week's stay at a local property last night) and certainly most of the golfers at the Balaia club are French. German is also heard.  Dutch also. They don't have quarantines to worry about.

Check the flights at Faro airport.  Today from Germany 15, England and Scotland 14 (one wonders how full they are), Netherlands 6, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, France and Poland 1 each. Perhaps a lot of the French drive down. Nothing from Northern Ireland or the Republic.

Two oddities - yesterday there was a return Ryanair flight from Newquay to Faro and today there is flagged a direct flight to Biggin Hill, no incoming working seen.

Which airline was going to Biggin Hill?

It would be utterly indicative of our luck that someone starts flying to Biggin Hill the very month my mother-in-law moves away from Biggin Hill after living there for 55 years...

Perhaps they're using WW2 surplus aircraft.  Get your flying jacket and sheepskin boots ready.
All the best Perry & my regards to Karen.
It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase 'As pretty as an Airport' appear. Douglas Adams

It was the Biggin based BAE146 operated by Formula One Management. ✈

Odd - they don't normally list private planes on the website. Maybe they just wanted a bit of the F1 glory reflected on themselves. Smile Smile

There’s someone on social media advertising flights back to the U.K. and other countries on a private jet.

That’s probably the Biggin Hill flight.

If someone has empty seats on a private plane and the right licences it makes sense to try to sell them. But right that private flights don't normally appear on the Faro airport lists.

I imagine we shall be seeing a lot of flash little planes coming in and out over the next week. Keep an eye on https://www.flightradar24.com
