Hi all,
Me and two friends will be coming to albufeira in June for 6 nights and we really want to do a day trip to Lisbon on the train, I was just wondering what the prices were like and would it be a similar price if hopping on the train on the day or is it best to book online, also what is the official website to book these train tickets?
Thanks, James

Just checked prices a month ahead and for the first train up and last train back it's €43,80 return. There are currently no cheap tickets on offer for the first train up at 0728am.

Add to that cost of getting to the station, which is 4 miles from town.

Reservations are compulsory. Although it's unlikely, in theory these trains can sell out so buying on line is recommended.

Coaches will be around €40 there and back. Most go from the main bus station Albufeira Caliços about 1 mile out of town but half a dozen or so do go from the old town stop in Avenida da Liberdade - Albufeira Centro. You would have to leave around 7am to get a decent few hours in Lisbon. On the coach go to Lisboa Sete Rios which is much nearer the city centre than Oriente.  Times and tickets 30 days in advance at www.rede-expressos.pt or you can buy them at the main bus station or the Bus Shop in the old town which is by the stop down there.
