I noticed there hasn't been many posts on here recently, at one time there was a healthy mix of topics from quite a few posters, that has dwindled down to mainly just one person, does this reflect the changing nature of Albufeira itself?
I must admit this year for the 1st time for 30+ years we are not visiting Albufeira or the Algarve.

For me personally, the forum doesn’t work properly on iPad and iPhone.
This has been ongoing for a couple of years now. Cubsur is aware of it.

Its possible that your Iphone/Ipad have not downloaded the the latest updates. My Iphone is ok as its brand new, but my Ipad it to old to update, as you need to have at least ISO16 and above.
Hope this is useful.

I think the Facebook groups that focus on Albufeira and the Algarve are a big reason for why this forum has gone so quiet.
We first started visiting the Algarve in 2010 and forums were a massive source of information then.

And I don't do Social Media. At all. Would become obsessive 37º here in Bordeaux yesterday, too hot, only 29º today. Better.

I don`t come by here very often these days.
That is because you can go on facebook and it tells you is there is a post on the things you follow. Going back 10-15 years is it? This forum was the place to come to for advice. It might be a lot of things but I seem to know a number of people who have passed away since lockdown. Somtimes on forums like this where you do not know some people personally they have passed away and you don`t even know. Mind back to facebook some of the things that are posted are just s***e. Somebody has a good experience and you would think they had visited paradise when they have been to one beach and three bars and they start spouting rubbish. The same the other way they bump into one drunk and you would think they had had a week in downtown Rio. If you moved this forum onto facebook within 2 months it would be like the rest full of know alls who know nout in about 75% of cases. I do not know Cubsur personally I think I have avoided him because I owe him a lot of pints for the very best advice over the years. I have to say I don`t know of a Brit who has the knowledge of Albufeira like he has. So life in the forum yet

Not sure what happened re above??? The forum seems to have been acting up for me over the last couple of days!
Hello Boro on Tour (Tonisdad) I remember you posting back in the day. There were rather a crowd of us then. Some have sadly passed, some moved on, some like myself disappeared for a while and come back again (Like a bad smell lol). Hubby and I sold our apartment back in 2013 and until last winter had not been back to Algarve since. We then spent two months staying near Silves and travelled most days to the coast, mainly to The Marina which has grown so much and was a hive of activity in November and December. We met up with Pete (Knopp) and Chez (from The Cottage Restaurant) and their family a couple of times and enjoyed dog walks with them. It was lovely to see them again after so many years. Didn't manage to buy Cubsur a pint - maybe next time? Currently planning the next trip which is not confirmed as yet. I need to work on the finances and the hubby ;-)

Avril we too are back in UK but got back regular enough until past couple of years.
Been looking at prices for now August they are wanting £200 a night!!!! Best of it is when we lived there we came home in August but grandaughter wants some sun before starting senior school. Looking at the prices she is going to have to want unless anybody knows somewhere reasonable.

Hi all, I don’t contribute or look at the site anymore as I don’t visit Albufeira anymore.
We have now bought a place in Spain and spend a lot of time there. We have a plane to drive down for a visit hopefully next year. (8 hour drive)

Flying is becoming very expensive also deterring British visitors. I looked at flights from Faro to UK early September next year and prices are approaching €400 one way. It's all Facebook and Whats App nowadays anyway. Forums and chat rooms are so 20th century!
