That will settle the financial markets - not! I see that the Canadian immigration website crashed and there was a "spike" in that of New Zealand too.

That's how I felt about Brexit - shell shocked!   Has the world gone mad!?
All through the campaign I didn't think Trump was going to win .. but this last week it looked like it was going his way. So last few days I half expected it.
I'm not watching any of it now -- just switching off! I don't want to be seeing him and his lot gloating and crowing.

Everything I read said that if Trump won the $ would weaken, the Euro would strengthen so the £ would also weaken. So yesterday, just as a precaution I did a £1.5k transfer and got a smidgeon under 1.12. Saw Trump had won this morning and felt rather pleased with my transaction. Just looked and the £/Euro rate is now 1.14. You just can't win.

If you can transfer £1500 on a whim, compared to a lot of folk, you ain't got too much to complain about David...
