“You can get a free antigen test in Albufeira, in a facility outside the town hall.”
Did anyone else notice this has changed ? It now asks if you are travelling and the charge is 20 euros now ? |

Yes, the €20 charge was introduced even though the site's front page still suggests that the test is free. I cannot see any difference in the pages for travellers and non-travellers.
I don't see any mention of the €20 fee nor did I find any available booking slots!

The antigen test was originally free. This quickly changed to 20€. The PCR test is 70€.
When you go to book there are 3 options... Antigen test. Antigen test for travel. PCR test.

Is there a different certificate produced for travel ? Surely a test certificate is either positive or negative ?
We booked when it was free , will they now charge us when we go ? |

You only need an antigen test to get on the return flight and that can be booked through Albufeira safe for 20 euro , don’t pay 100 euro for one , that’s very expensive !

We took 50 minutes last week, if Portugal want visitors they will need to improve the border force ! I also heard they are going to go on strike soon too !!

The planned strikes have been called off, government stepped in to stop them.
I am not at all surprised that it will take hours and hours for UK people to clear the airport now that the new passport rules are in place, not to mention all the reams of medical paperwork to be checked. Unfortunately there is a finite amount of space at the airport. I cannot see how a quick fix can be applied for this summer. Let's hope lessons are learned and improvements made for next year.
