Increase in cases! Not even 1% of the population is affected. The death of tourist travel is going to cost more in lives and money.
From next Tuesday, travel to Portugal is permitted from UK only for 'essential reasons' which does not include holidays. Presumably it's not a problem this next four days, so why give several days warning? If it's though that bad here, why was the door not slammed shut immediately and all outbound flights cancelled?? There are dozens of flights due in today from UK. Presumably most will be empty with people being forced to cancel their trips.

Yes looks like the increase in cases and the pressure from devolved governments has put Portugal back into the Amber zone ! Ridiculous, flip flop again say as last year, they will collapse the tourism industry !!

The planned strikes have been called off, government stepped in to stop them.
I am not at all surprised that it will take hours and hours for UK people to clear the airport now that the new passport rules are in place, not to mention all the reams of medical paperwork to be checked. Unfortunately there is a finite amount of space at the airport. I cannot see how a quick fix can be applied for this summer. Let's hope lessons are learned and improvements made for next year.

We took 50 minutes last week, if Portugal want visitors they will need to improve the border force ! I also heard they are going to go on strike soon too !!

You only need an antigen test to get on the return flight and that can be booked through Albufeira safe for 20 euro , don’t pay 100 euro for one , that’s very expensive !

Is there a different certificate produced for travel ? Surely a test certificate is either positive or negative ?
We booked when it was free , will they now charge us when we go ? |
