Fare from Acoteias to Albufeira now 3.40 the third increase in as many years. Perhaps they are investing in new buses or even timetables at each stop They need to be careful, got a taxi back from Modelo for 8.55 so for 2 people that's only a difference of 1.75. |

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Yes, fares went up on 1st January by 2% rounded to nearest 5 cents. Timetable, you are having a laugh. GIRO fares around the main parts of Albufeira haven't gone up and we still don't have an official timetable. Any I have now obtained my Pass Senior for the GIRO, unlimited travel for €11 a month. Now if only they would add Olhos De Agua, Açoteias etc to the network! I know that residents out there are pretty p****d off that they have to pay double for a worse service. However if you plan to make 8 journeys or more between Açoteias and Albufeira, get hold of the pre paid EVA pass from the bus station which reduces the cost of each journey to a more bearable €1,79. The card itself costs €3 and can be topped up there as required, minimum 5 journeys, and doesn't expire as far as I know.
