Will International soccer even be a thing then? The UK may well have rejoined the United States of Europe, Smoking could be legal again in pubs, Bingo banned, all sorts of things could happen by then.

2045 is the kickoff time normal for that time of year here because of the heat, although at least one site says 1945. Will spectators be allowed? Venue according to the Scotland FA is the Algarve Stadium, out in the wilds of the countryside several miles from Faro and 30 minutes by car from Albufeira.

Thinking ahead, that's the ticket.
As that force of nature Roy Keane says; "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail". Mind you Roy says a lot of things. Anyway good luck to Scotland in the Euros, England, Wales and of course Portugal too. A great pity in all likelyhood Albufeiira will not have the same buzz it would normally have for the matches. Here's to the coming better times.

Hell of a result last night for Portimonense against Vitoria Guimaraes. I know VG are on a poor run but to beat them 3 nil, that's a good result. Been keeping an eye on Beto ( Portimonense ) . Tall, fast and has scored a number of goals recently. I just wonder whether Sporting, Benfica or Porto are monitoring. Also watched Marcus Edwards ( V G ). Very good English player who has many English admirers. Think West Ham and Southampton are keeping tabs.

Yes a big result for Portimonense. Video highlights at https://www.ligaportugal.pt/pt/liga/jogo/20202021/liganos/26/5
Portimonense are now up to ninth place, 29 points from 26 games. But there are only five points between them and that dotted line, so must keep the run going to be safe. They play Famalição next week, then Benfica midweek, followed by the local derby against Farense. Beto is in his second season at Portimonense having joined them from a third division club Olimpico de Montijo, where he was top scorer in his one season with them after coming from from junior sides. No joy for Farense, who went down 1-0 at Marítimo who now go above Farense at the bottom of the table. That's just one win in the last eight games for Farense. Their next game is at home to league leaders Sporting, obviously one they won't win!

The final day of the regular season saw all three games vital to the Algarve teams end in draws. The consequence is that Louletano, Olhanense and Moncarapachense will advance to the promotion playoffs, while Lagos will remain in the Campeonato de Portugal, which next season becomes the fourth tier. Lagos had finished their programme, there being only eleven teams in this section.
Results - Moncarapachense 0 - 0 Amora, Juventude Évora 1 - 1 Louletano and Olhanense 1 - 1 Lusitano Évora The playoffs begin on Sunday 25th April and will conclude on 30th May. Louletano and Moncarapachense will be grouped with Sporting B and the exotically named Oriental Dragon FC. Olhanense will be up against Amora, Real SC and Praiense. Group winners (there are eight) will be in National III next season along with the teams who not qualify for promotion to Liga II in the other series plus two to be relegated from the current Liga II.

For anyone interested in Farenses Liga Nos adventures, tomorrows bunfight at home to Sporting [9pm] is being televised live on the FreeSports channel.
Will be able to cast an eye over Ryan Gauld who is getting good reports. Scot who binned Dundee United in the Jock League to try and make it elsewhere, I understand.

Gauld is Farense's leading goalscorer in the League, having scored seven of their 24 so far. He is captain and if I recall correctly was their player of the year last season. I dare say it was a fairly brave move to go from Hibs to what was then a second division team, although has played for other clubs here since 2014.
If Farense are relegated, it would seem reasonable for a 'big' club to make a move for him. Farense could no doubt use the money.

Farense 0-1 Sporting.
According to the formbook, but Farense had lots of luck ..... but all of it bad. Sporting scored in the first half after a VAR. Farense had two penalty appeals turned down with one of them in particular a dubious decision...... in my opinion the Ligas minnows never get them given when playing the big fish. Second half and Farense made all the running with Sportings keeper pulling off several very good saves. Couple of goals chalked off for close offsides too. At the final whistle the visitors were out on their feet ..... Farense inconsolable to a man. Brave effort but no points again

And Mr Gauld blotted his copybook by getting booked at the end. The Sporting goalie got man of the match.
Video highlights 5 minutes of - https://www.ligaportugal.pt/pt/liga/jogo/20202021/liganos/27/8 - click resumo box The system ensures that the the big three never lose to 'lesser' teams. A long running story!

The Algarve league season has now been officially abandoned. It is stated that there are no champions as such, but that Imortal Albufeira, who were leading the league when the final games were played in January, will be promoted to the Campeonato de Portugal, which next season will be the fourth tier of the national structure.
SC Farense B (runaway leaders) will be promoted from Algarve League Division Two to take their place. There will be no relegation from Algarve League Division One. (but on the other hand they say only 12 teams per division?) If regulations permit, Ferreiras FC will be nominated to play in the Portugal FA Cup next season as they were second in the league when it finished. Imortal will automatically be eligible for the FA Cup next season as members of the national system.

Thanks for the Algarve Football League updated. Amazed that it took this time to abandon the season.
Another good result for Portimonense, with Beto scoring again. Three wins on the trot and Benfica arriving on Thursday evening. One more win should be enough to stay in the top division. Looks like relegation is between Farense, CD Naional and Maritimo. |

English football is becoming even more corrupted by money! The so called "Big Six" breaking away to form a European "Super" league with no promotion or relegation and no thought whatsoever about the fans!!
