LAST WEEKEND'S RESULTS NEXT WEEKEND'S GAMES

Liga Nos and Liga Ledman Pro

No game for either Portimonense or Farense last weekend because of Internationals. Neither will they have a game next weekend as it's round 2 of the League Cup and both are already out.

PORTUGAL FA CUP FIRST ROUND results for Algarve teams

Amora 3 - 2 Lusitano
Juventude Évora 1 - 3 Armacanenses
Almancil 0 - 1 Moura
Olhanense 0 - 0 Silves after extra time. Silves won 4-2 on penalties
Ferreiras 0 - 1 Lusitano GC Évora

I went to Ferreiras. Awful game, half the players on both sides didn't seem know which colours they were playing in so poor was the passing. There was nothing to worry either goalkeeper until late on, when Ferrerias finally put some passes together, the final efforts on goal were well covered by the visting 'keeper. Everyone in the 200 or so crowd was resigned to the prospect of extra time when 5 minutes 'stoppage' time was shown. Right at the end though, with literally the last kick of the game, Lusitano scored when a rebound off a blocked shot was hammered low and hard into the net. A stunned silence from 3/4 of those present while visiting fans, players, subs, coaches etc went potty.

I have to say that the 'spectator experience' at Ferreiras is now very poor. There are no teams announced despite there being a very loud PA system, no information for fans audible or visible about substitutions, who won the raffle, next games etc which  you take for granted at even the lowest level of semi pro football in UK; let alone a national third division side. No programmes or even a team sheet of course. Seems all they want is your €5.

The Algarve teams return to League action next weekend. There will be only one  game in the Algarve on Sunday with a  3pm /1500hrs ko thus

Louletano v Moura

the others will all be away.

The Algarve League First Division gets under way on September 22nd, the Second Division the folowing week. This season the Second Division begins with 18 teams, including Ferreiras B, Lusitano VRSA B and a reformed Campinense (based in Loulé)

The draw has been made for the first round of the Algarve Cup, which will not be played until 12th December. Imortal will travel to Estombar to play Carvoeiro United. The full draw can be seen at https://www.afalgarve.pt/pdf/2018_19/Res_Sorteio_6_setembro.pdf

The game between Quarteirense and Imortal Albufeira is not shown on the official fixture list. It is elsewhere. So far I have not found any explanation. I will check again on Tuesday evening.

WOMENS FOOTBALL NATIONAL SECOND DIVISION GROUP E

All kinds of changes were made to the fixture list with some clubs, including Guia, bringing forward their first game.

But not a good start For Guia, who lost 6-2 at home to Estoril. They will be away next week.

Watched the Portimonense game on the tele last night, very entertaining. Guimaraes had most of the play but Japanese striker Shoya Nakajima had a blinder, scoring two excellent goals and providing the assist for the other.
