The weather in blighty is supposed to be nice today and rest of week, this has yet to happen. Arrived back in sunny (not) Manchester Friday, after 10 days there. Roll on September when I am back again. Unless I have a lotto win, then I will be there on next available flight. ha ha. I will be saving this picture as my screensaver.Approve
Loving it in the sun

I read that the weather in Blighty yesterday was not so good. For those of who wishing that you were here, the beach yesterday afternoon at about 2.30pm. I have some more which I will sort out later for my webspace.

Something I noticed yesterday - no picture sorry. A lot of cliffs east of Inatel have had the loose material scraped away. It doesn't do much for the appearance but has improved safety no doubt. However as a result there are a lot of small rocks and pebbles along the beach, the sort you stub your toe on.  Please be careful and warn your kids if they are likely to to jumping and diving in the water at high tide when they will be hidden.

Look how a little bit of sun can make things better! The beach this morning at about 1100am. 90 minutes later and it's starting to cloud over!

mwhittles, if you go to the albufeira.com home page and click on the beach giude tab and then the interactive beach guide you can view all the beaches in the Albufeira area. You should have a look at Praia da Oura which is the closest to you.
The original photo above is Praia do Peneco, old town area.

This might make you feel better. The terrace at Intatel at about 4.30pm on Friday. It started raining about half an hour later!

I didn't see anyone using the lift in the 15 minutes or so I was there but neither did I see a sign saying 'lift closed' so I guess it's just a matter of common sense i.e. don't use the lift if the sea is breaking over the path and covering the beach.

It's Ok in summer when the tides are not so high.

I used the lift once last summer, once was enough!! You couldnt pay me to get on it when the sea is as close as that!
