Perhaps it grew a new claw after losing the first [right] one?

I assume claws are waved either to attract a female or to display to other males "mine's bigger than yours". 🦀🦀🦀

Apparently some crabs do grow a new claw if one goes missing.

I found several learned studies on why some crabs are left handed. It seems the answer is 'we don't know', any more than we don't know why some humans are left handed.

It seems that being a left handed crab is bad news.

The pussies on the viewing platform looked a bit chilly this afternoon. The gulls were mostly having a good squawk about something, not this one though.

This mutt followed me around for a while on Thursday. A peaceable creature, unlike most of the wild dogs up here.

This cat looked to be as cross as we humans are

I also noticed that the little tribe that is usually sunning itself on the viewing platform have cleared off somewhere else.

They must also be wondering what's going on.

Some of the cats are back on the viewing platform but they have competition.

This one was glaring at me nearby.

The cats were being fed when I went onto the viewing platform. They are happy enough. Anyone to swap places? These horses also seemed content.

Like the gulls, these two were probably wondering where everyone has gone. I didn't like the look the grey one was giving me.
