Does anyone know what bird the black one is? It was all alone among the seagulls, sitting at the marina entrance quite undisturbed. It might perhaps be a cormorant of some type?. As you can tell I was a long way off and it's not a very good picture.

On the pic above I am told it is a cormorant, either a very brave or very stupid one.
On the subject of bird lfe, this is taking free range a bit too far perhaps? On the road towards Algarve Shopping yesterday afternoon. A dog was having fits about this but the birds ignored it.  |

The cowardy cats weren't up for for a fight yesterday when two very large gulls muscled in on their territory and ate their food.
 The stripey one in fact walked off completely.  |

A couple of friends who dropped in for lunch
The first one liked cheese rolls but the second on preferred grapes. On a side note, we've got 2 Hoopoe's regularly visiting our patio at the moment but they don't like the camera. Will keep trying though.   |
