Update 0915. So much for 'occasional light showers'! The heavens have opened and it is nowa typical summer day in Lancashire.

8am in Blackpool. 14º, dull, grey, quite windy. Expected to be a mainly dry day, perhaps an occasional shower, maximum 16º! Yesterday turned out quite nice after the morning deluge, cricket got under way at 1pm with overall only a hour's play lost.

I am the airport waiting to fly to Manchester and the delights of a few days of early summer in Lancashire. It is 26° here at 1045am, probably the same in Albufeira. This afternoon's maximum around 33°. Not much change is expected for the next several days. The hot weather continues. Yesterday it peaked at 30.9º, today we might have 33º. It is already 24.9º at 0830am. Sky is clear, it is quite windy again. It will be warmer tonight than it has been lately, still 23 or 24º at midnight.

No real change in the weather expected for several days, except that it might be a little cooler over the weekend. The prospect of rain has been reduced. The wind will be coming more from the south and much lighter.

It is windy this morning! Temperature at 0750am is 18.7º. It will warm up quickly to reach a high of perhaps 33º by mid-afternoon. It will stay windy. Tonight will be warm and pleasant, around 20º at midnight. It's going to be a very warm one today. Temperature at 0830am is 19.9º, rising to perhaps 31º by mid afternoon. Still that steady wind, mostly from the north-west. A warm and pleasant night to come, it will still be around 20º at midnight. It could be hotter still tomorrow and pretty warm for the next few days. The current forecast is showing a slight chance of rain next weekend. The heat goes on. Temperature at 0845 is 20.7º, it is a little bit cloudy and the wind is still with us. Temperture will rise to 28 or 29º this afternoon. The wind will shift a little to come more from the south and not as strong as it hs been. The wind will return tonight, temperature at midnight will be around 20º. And yet another very warm day ahead, we could have 29 or 30º around tea-time this afternoon. Temperature at 0800 is 18.3º. It's not quite as windy as yesterday and during the wind, but will be windier later and maybe a little cloudy this evening. It will stay warm tonight, 19 or 20º around midnight. The next few days show no change in the general weather situation. There's some cloud around today. It might not be quite as hot as it has been lately. (The hottest place in Portugal yesterday was Faro airport at 35.3º) Currently, at 0730, it is 16.5º here in Albufeira. The steady wind from the north-west is still with us. It will warm up fairly quickly, to a maxiumum of 28º by lunchtime. It will be fairly cool again tonight, with the wind helping, so no problems sleeping! Hot days and cool nights to continue. Yesterday we topped out at 32.5º. As of 0725 this morning, it is 16.1º and quite windy, as it has been most of the night. It might become cloudy later, which could keep the temperature down to a chilly 28º. Tonight will be nice and cool, 18º at midnight. The wind will be with us all the time. Cool and windy at the moment, expected to be a hot day though. Temperature at 0820am is 17.7º, wind is coming from the north. Yesterday the temperature peaked at 32.3º at 1800hrs, the same is forecast for today. It's going to be pretty windy all day as well. Not too hot tonight, around 20º at midnight. It's quite windy this morning. Temperature at 0830am is 22.1º. It will be a hot and sunny day, temperature could rise this afternon to as high as 35º, although it will be a cooler down here on the actual coast. Tonight won't be too hot, 22 or 23º at midnight ahead of another very hot day tomorrow. Cooler weather, only 28º, is expected from Tuesday onward. It's going to be hot today. By tea-time we could have 33º. This morning, it's 18.4º at 0735am, light wind from the North-west. Temperature will swiftly rise towards 30º by mid-motrning, higher still after lunch. It will be windier later, especially this evening and tonight. My washing is on the line! It will be quite cool tonight in comparison, 22º at midnight. Tomorrow could be even hotter, 35º says the forecast. We are set for a week of daytimes up around 30º, nights not uncomfortable at 17 - 20º.
