Notice a part of Vila Nova has re-opened as Magna Oura hotel .. and looks a bit upmarket. Spotted when setting off for my little walk this morning, so I had to have a closer look. It seems to be permanent in that the stays are set into concrete. No sign of any recent or current use.

What do you need to know about the area? There are places to eat and drink not far away that stay open all year and a decently large supermarket fairly close by. The old town centre area is about 2.5km away.

You are better off in Santa Eulalia area for long winter stays.

There is more open and more people around.

There is now also scaffolding across most of the front of the building. Couldn't see around the back from the bus.

There is light scaffolding at each end of the building, the kind that painters use. Nothing yet around the balconies etc. Looks like a paint job, which would require machine removal of old paint thus creating dust.

hi all we are due to come over and staying at brisa sol from the 9th November for 3 weeks we have received an email from the our tour operator stating that building works will be in place during our stay :(

involving scaffolding, drilling ,restricted access, dust limited facilities ?! we have emailed brisa sol and no replies , I've attempted to phone and as soon as I mention building work the phone goes dead ... or the person on the phone no longer understands English :)

if anyone is passing buy can drop a reply and see whats going off , although we don't spend 24/7 in the hotel don't want to be in a building site .

our operator has said we can change accommodation but due to a 3 week stay if we decide to move we might be restricted to a 10/14 day stay due to time of year and will refund us the difference if we move .... thanks

ps the works are starting from 27/10
