Had to look up "grockle" Dicey LOL.
We caught the last couple of weeks of August and I too have said to the wife you can get a mate or two over for next year because I won`t be here in August.....She didn`t object for some reason .
At our place the grassed area is the size of about 4 football pitches and you could not see a blade of grass for towels. I thnk the majority are not staying at the condo just come to sun bathe and use the pool all you can see is black heads bobbing about.
There seems to be about a dozen in any apartments that are used and respect for neighbours is non existent
Can`t get parked out the front because people use it as a public car park when they go to the beach.
Now as you say back to normal with just residents barring the odd visitor...bliss.

Been back for 5 days now and have to say it's brilliant.
So much better here than when we went home in mid July.
Weather still great but much more comfortable - cooler mornings, evenings and nights.
Lots less people around - no queues in shops, restaurants or bars.
No over crowded buses and plenty of taxis available.
Empty pool & no noisy kids with huge inflatable objects taking up all the space.
Much less traffic & noise - nothing but peace, quiet & tranquility.
Our apartment block is empty bar a couple of residents as the grockles have gone home and left us in near isolation.
Will avoid June, July and August next year - too busy and too hot.
Strictly "out of season" for us from now on.
