We get exactly the same comments, "Albufeira again"?
Yes yes and yes again!
First visited about 6 years ago and now visit regularly including both weeks and long weekend visits.
We do have holidays in other places but get a very weird "coming home" feeling every time we return.
Have met some great people who have become friends.

Roll on next Friday!

We class Albufeira as our home from our first visit in 1990. Hi Cheeky Girl,
Both my son and daughter came with us when we last went 'as a family' in 2014. My son did enjoy it, and his pals have always been keen for him to organise an Albufeira 'boys holiday' since then. He is currently at the age though where Magaluf is his destination of choice!
My daughter returned to Albufeira, with her boyfriend, last year. They both loved it and plan to return later this this.
I guess it's in the genes!
The wife and I were over in April and currently plan to return in September. The trouble is, the more time I spend in Albufeira, the harder it is to return to the UK!!

Interesting. Some of the comments above exactly mirror conversations I have had, over many years now, with my good lady. I first visited Albufeira, before I even met her, in 1989. I immediately fell in love with the place, and have returned, as often as i can, ever since. She and I got together in 1990 and at first she didn't have the same affection for the place. She would have much preferred to go elsewhere, which we did.
Through work, I have travelled widely visiting some very nice places, but I always retained my love for Albufeira, and would return there given a choice over other venues.
Now our children are older, we are able to take more than one holiday, which is clearly the ideal scenario: One to a 'new' place; at least one to my favourite place;
Interestingly, I no longer have to plead a case for Albufeira, she now automatically assumes that we will visit Albufeira as often as possible. It seems the magic has bewitched her too!
Like others, it is my/our sincere wish to retire to Albufeira asap.

Was introduced to Can Pastilla 23 years ago by my inlaws, must have been there at least 15 times since, inlaws still visit, now its our turn, taking them with us to stay in Albufiera where we stayed last year!

The world is a big place and there are some fantastic destinations. 

I am satisfied with europe though and don't care for doing those long trips elsewhere. 

I would like to see as much of Europe as possible.  We can only manage one holiday a year .. so it's unlikely, ha. 
Time and money don't allow much leeway for exporing. 

I do love Portugal tho'

I can see both sides of this. 

I can understand people settling for one place - why change something you love? For a long time we always used to go to the same place we loved and we felt at home. But the last few times we decided to spread our wings a little and see somewhere else. 

Maybe for people who have travelled to a lot of places abroad and seen it all, then it's ok to settle on the one you most like.

But maybe because we haven't travelled much abroad we felt it time to explore a little more and just see what else is out there. 

I really love Portugal, but it would be nice to see Mallorca because I have heard so much about how lovely it is. Also, I would like to see some of the major European cities. 

What about Madeira .. would love to go there.  

If I had the time and money I would love to explore all of Portugal - places like Oporto, Coimbra, Lisboa, Cascais, etc, etc. 

mainland Spain .. places such as Cadiz, Granada, Valencia, Cordoba, and so on. All wondeful places.

All that, plus familiarity. When you only have a couple of weeks holiday a year, why waste a few days getting to know the place, finding the bars and restaurants that suit you etc? I know that these days forums such as this do make that a lot easier, but it's nice to come "home".
