I always thought it was strange to close the Old Town branch as the Modelo branch and one behind Pingo must be only about 50 meters apart and the Sao Joao just another 100 meters.

Hopefully the main branch behind Pingo will re-open because at that one the queues were divided into 3 categories so at least you didn't get stuck behind a shop/bar owner depositing his takings in a shopping bag, which did happen to me once at the modelo branch. Unhappy

Shows how much attention I pay to my surroundings! Unable to cancel a DD on line. Hmmm. I have several, none of which need cancelling at the moment but I shall discuss with you upon my return, just in case.

Ah - but if you read carefully what I wrote, we couldn't cancel the DD on line, we had no choice but to go to the branch Mr A...

Old Town is ATMs only according to Millennium's own web site.

Sign of the times and not just with banks. If you cannot run your life on line, you are deemed unworthy of existence.

I didn't notice that the branch in the old town square had closed. Used an ATM there a couple of weeks back.

Having closed the branch at Algarve Shopping some years ago and then the branch at Albufeira Shopping in advance of the reburbishment of the building, the branch behind Pingo Doce is now closing for a refurbishment from June 17th for an unspecified period. This leaves only the branch near the crossroads at the strip to cover the entire Albufeira municipality. We waited 90 minutes this morning to cancel a direct debit because we were unable to do so on-line.
