Job done. The chap on the end of that phone number said that the council no longer did that kind of work and that I should speak with condominium management for their best plumber.

Did so, man arrived within half an hour with a new valve, installed and working.

Thanks. That was one of the numbers I found but it didn't clearly state it was for problems. I shall let the forum know how I get on.

Does anyone know the correct phone number at Albufeira town hall to call for a water problem?

I've looked at the website and my bill and asked several people, no joy.

The main 'stopcock' before the water meter is stuck fast so I cannot turn water on or off at the mains.
