Hi there,

My partner and i are booked and heading to albufeira on 1st oct to the 8th .

We are a couple in our 20s who arent all the fussed on getting pissed every night and sleeping every day, while we will enjoy a drink or two we dont like to do the usual '' boozed up brits abroad'' routine. Hence why we enjoy going out of season ( not just the price ) :)

So what can any of you recommend for us to do if anything on said dates , even new or already existing restaurants we may not know.

We have been coming every year out of season for about the last three years although im sure this will be the latest in the year we have been yet.

 Thanks

Hi there,
Have you tried Johnny Hoopers saxophone bistro , they have a great nights entertainment on Tuesday's and Friday's., for young & old.
Check it out on trip advisor , we've been many times , we love it.
Also fab suggestions above under 'Restaurants & Portuguese cuisine '
It's a lovely time to go, enjoy !

We are staying in Villa petra, just off the top of the strip. its an apart-hotel, so it suits our self catering needs anyway, the food in the restaurant has been very nice also every time we ate. Clean rooms , and very helpful/accomodating staff.

Down the road opposite the front entrance to Vila Petra you will see Blues Bar on the right hand side of the road. Might be a bit quiet in October but has lovely staff nice beer & cocktails plus all your sports on its many TVs. Quiz nights Sunday, Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Two pool tables and a downstairs area for kids

Are you hiring a car?

If so a trip to Silves Castle is a good day out and only a 40 minute drive.

No, we Wont be hiring a car, I personally dont have a licence, and my partner, well lets say she would need ten licences before i would be happy to be a passenger with her in portugal, Back home in Ireland is bad enough ;)

but thanks for the suggestion i will check it out and if it seems like something worth while i could enquire about a taxi, as we do use taxis to get around sometimes.

There are buses to Silves and other places people like to visit. See http://www.algarvebus.info/004.htm%20" rel="nofollow - www.algarvebus.info/004.htm fo an overview and links to timetables.

Thanks, i will keep this in mind. Although i havent used any buses yet, some of my family members who go to albufeira more regular than us have used the bus before they just never really knew times but that should be of some assistance anyway :)
