I'm pleased to advise Shalom 2 - the Rib Place has reopened.
We went there last night - ribs were great as usual
If you like spare ribs you must go there

Sadly the one time we went there, Karen was served a rack that was 50% fat, we were overcharged and they had only managed to coat one side of the ribs with sauce. Not an eyelid was batted about Karen leaving almost all her dinner. I would give them another try, but it put Karen off for life unfortunately Rich.

How strange, we love the place, have eaten their dozens of times and the ribs have always been superb.
We shall be there week after next for sure.

I know Andrew - we have dozens of friends who love the place, I guess we were just unlucky to have three reasons to complain on the one night. Being British, we didn't, of course . Although Karen was ready to if, after seeing her almost full plate, had they bothered to ask if everything was alright.

Would be nice to see you mate - though not in Shalom

I guess that their selection process isn't too sharp, and Carol and us were just unlucky to draw the short straws when we were there.

We were lucky enough to be over last week for a short 4 night break with friends. We ate twice in Shalom 2, one night having the 2 person shared mix grill, the second the signature ribs. Both nights the food was magnificent, for the price I think you'd struggle to beat it anywhere!
If you holiday in Albufeira, and don't visit Shalom 2, I don't think you can consider your holiday complete!

Can someone tell me where shalom 2 is located to as I have looked on google maps and photos on trip advisor and I am getting conflicting messages,as some photos show it next door to central planet and other photos show it somewhere else.

If you stand in the main square near the tic tac bar (near Sir Harry's) there is a ladies clothes shop called Adrianas. Simply go up the side street that runs down the side of Adrianas, Turn first right and Shalom 2 is the second restaurant. Enjoy!

Thanks very much.

Will be out there in June so I will definitely give the place a try

Shalom 2 is next door to Central Planet. What might be confusing you is that there are 3 Shaloms. A few yards back from Shalom 2, heading towards the square are the other two. They are practically facing each other.

So which one is everyone talking about ? Are all these places the same and owned by the same people and selling the same food ?

And Shalom 2 is at the back of Shalom 1!
There's also a fourth one, the build your own burger one which is where Shalom 2 used to be, but they haven't put the Shalom Monica on that one, yet!
Confused? You soon will be when... (Now there's a quiz question, what tv programme was that part of the introduction to? 😉)

So which is the best one to go to for the ribs ?

Shalom 2 for the ribs, no question. They all have different signature dishes, the other two have chicken (wings I think) and mixed grill as their's, but all three menus are very good, varied and different.
But ribs? As it says on the poster, best in town and eat as many as you want, Shalom 2. I'd recommend booking though, in high season we've seen 20+ strong queues waiting for a table, it's that good.

So what is the location of the one that sells the good ribs,is it where WIMDMILL HILL BOY said it is to,or is it mext door to central planet ?

Sorry for all the questions but it seems a bit confusing,at this rate I will just end up going to Mc Donald's lol

Windmill Hill Boy has it correct. Directly behind Pensao Albuferense which is just off the square at the start of Av. da Liberdade. You can see Pensao Albuferense on Google Earth street view.
Shalom 2 used to be beside Central Planet but moved, last year I think.  For what it's worth I ate there a couple of years ago and enjoyed he ribs, many of them.  I think it cost about €12.00 then.

It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase 'As pretty as an Airport' appear. Douglas Adams

The one next to Central Planet no longer has the Shalom name attached to it. Whether it still has anything to do with them, I don't know.

AA, yes they own the 'Build your own Burger' one as well but they haven't put the Shalom monica on that one, I'll ask Oded if they are going to.

Ok, finally got round to it last night.

As most will know, Shalom is on the Ave de Liberade, practically opposite is also Shalom.

On the street behind in what was The Cave Restaurant you will find Shalom 2 which do the ribs deal, although they will also do the ribs in Shalom.

The restaurant next door to Central Planet which used to be Shalom 2 is now called Burger Bar. Although there is no signage mentioning Shalom, it is owned and opperated by the Shalom people.

So 4 altogether and all seem to be doing very well indeed.

The ribs in Shalom are truly excellent, melt in the mouth as well as moist and tasty! We will visit their again next time in Albufeira

Ha. Not last night Richard. Had them in the past but was on the way to a certain ale house for a quiz and craic so didn't want to feel stuffed.
