At long last the badly potholed road down from the Dolphins towards the marina is being repaired.

I remember there were several holes that the council was looking into.

And not just repairs. Lots of pipes being stashed.

A ginormous trench now runs the length of the road.

The works along the Avenida down from the Dolphins towards the marina continues. Most of the trench along the first few hundred metres has now been filled in, but work further along is not so advanced. There is no obvious effect on traffic, with two way working along the other carriageway. I would hope for the sake of your wheels that work on the other side will follow!

Estrada de Santa Eulalia and Rua Jose Fontana in the New Town are also being resurfaced, in fact both are not far from finished.

Certainly everyone's very busy. I forgot to post this one, the other side of the road outside Encosta da Orada. Looks like a bit of Friday afternoon work!

Road works are ongoing. One side is closed between the Dolphins and the entrance to the marina although nothing is actually happening. Trafic both ways uses the other side. Beyond there, one side is for traffic towards Portimão. Traffic coming into town is being diverted along the new roads near the marina.

Work has now switched  to the other side. The scrapy machine has been hard at work. New tarmac  is going down. Meanwhile the road surface on the open side at the Dolphins is not so good. A car was stuck there earlier with a puncture .

Seems to have come to a halt. The sum total of activity this morning was one bloke with a wheelbarrow and two others unloading a some pipe valves.

From the Dolphins down to the marina roundabout trafffic in both directions is using the resurfaced side. The other side remains to be finished. At the Dolphins itself the surface has has been scraped off, leaving a three inch drop as you enter or leave and no signs to warn you.

Beyond there, traffic is using both sides, but one side has been scraped but not resurfaced.

As of this morning work started on the eastbound carriageway from the western end of the dual carriageway heading towards the Marina roundabout.

All done, a nice smooth surface for my bike at last.

At first sight this bit of road marking looked odd.

https://postimages.org/" rel="nofollow">

It still did at second sight. I can only think it is for the bus stop but doesn't look big enough.

That's what I first thought but it doesn't seem big enough. The very infrequent buses that run through Vale de Parra between Albufeira and Armação de Pêra stop by the roundabout and although this is not often done here, it is logical to re-site the stop on that side of the road.
