The top level of the car park at the Avenida da Liberdade entrance to the old town this morning. Perhaps it should be re-opened as a boating lake! I’d have thought more the builder, Clerk of Works and Building inspectorate to blame for that. Architects design wouldn’t be approved if that roof or slab didn’t have appropriate falls on it, it’s the workmanship, or lack of control of it, that’s done that, and seemingly got away with it. The opening hours on that car park are weird, RichardK and I once tried to park on it early one Saturday evening to get a taped message saying it was closed for the day! Crazy! ------------- Andrew |

Now that the lake has dried up it can be clearly seen that what few drains exist at that level are blocked with débris, leaves and suchlike. Maintenance is clearly not a priority here as it is not with keeping roadside ditches clear. That's one reason we get floods down in the town.
