Is there a restriction for dogs to go on the beaches?

Here in NL you can take your dog to the beach between October 1th till April 1th.

Or can someone tell where I can find rules about this?

Dogs are officially prohibited from all beaches here during the official beach bathing season which is from mid June until mid October. The exact dates are announced each year. When you see lifeguards on the beach and the green, yellow or red safety flags, that is when dogs are not permitted.

I think the restriction only applies to Blue Flag beaches.

There are special beaches where dogs are allowed - there is one in Quarteira.

Generally speaking the Portuguese stick by the rules which is unlike the UK where dog owners don't give a toss.

I should have probably said all the beaches in Albufeira. Certainly there must be some isolated beaches elsewhere with no official bathing and therefore no restrictions.
