We are looking at booking Villa Ramelhete in Calicos in September. Has anyone stayed at that particular property before?

I can't find anything about it anywhere. Is the spelling correct? There are Villas Ramelhete but not in Albufeira.

If it is spelled Ramalhete, my Google search found only your post!

Who would you book it through?

This one is right at the end of Farm Village ... you might need a car ... though there is a path further along across to R.Isaac Newton, leading down to Lidl ... or go all the way down to Pingo Doce at the health centre .. about the same distance. Dont take the nearby path to bus station as it goes through a gypsy camp. Better view of things from the satellite/streetview below. Highlight and right click ..

Thanks for that info. How long would the walk down to the Old Town take? I think it would definitely need a taxi back up.

It's a mostly flat walk into the old town, getting on for two miles no matter which way you go.  For me that would be about half an hour.

Once you get down to the main road, there is a footpath down below, so it's off road for most of the way, then a short tunnel takes you under the other main road and into town.

There isn't really an option by bus unless you take the short cut mentioned which brings you out here https://goo.gl/maps/6Xp4FaEWZWo8Sbmr6

Just down the road on the left is a bus stop outside a couple of bars from where three buses an hour go down into the old town, numbers 4 and 9, but you would still be walking almost half the distance. Might just as well keep on going, unless you actually see a bus coming, which they will at about 3, 33 and 40 minutes past every hour, every day.
