Really appreciate your information. I spoke to a player last night regarding Saturday and he doesn't even know what's happening. Very bizarre. I noticed that both Porto and Benfica had very limited number of supporters watching there Champions League / Europa League matches. I also noticed Santa Clara v Sporting Lisbon last weekend had supporters watching. Any info regarding Portimonense game against Santa Clara would be welcome. Presume it's still no supporters.
Cheers.

I checked the Portimonense website yesterday and there was no information one way or the other. Farense were allowed 800-odd at their game last weekend but that was played in the Algarve Stadium where they would easily be fitted in.
BTW seems that Portimonense may not be using the Alvor stadiium so I shall try to find out who is.

It has transpired that all football below the top two divisions was cancelled on Friday although there was no mention of this on any football website even on Saturday afternoon.

The same applied to all other sports such as basketball, handball, volleyball.

There is very angry comment on the Imortal Facebook page concerning the decision taken on Friday to cancel the weekend's non professional football programme. It starts by comparing what other events have recently been taking place, by saying that clubs have complied with every requirement of government regarding safety etc for six months and only to have it disregarded.

The final sentences, translated, read "There are clubs that have spent thousands of euros (travel, hotels, TEST) to go to islands for example! This is a total DISGOVERNMENT! We are delivered to an absolute void of strategy and orientation! Final word for FPF: As far as we know, they were to the last attempt (not) to make this decision, making a huge effort that the outcome wasn't this and that the whole work accomplished did not suffer this setback."

LAST WEEKEND'S RESULTS NEXT WEEKEND'S GAMES

Government decreed on Friday that all sports beow national 'elite' levels should be cancelled over the weekend just past. Naturally this raised some ire among the third and fourth tier football clubs! There were therefore no matches in the Campeonato de Portugal and Algarve League.

LIGA NOS

Portimonense 1 - 2 Santa Clara
Belenenses 1 - 1 Farense

An eventful game for Farense.  On 90 minutes they were leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from last season's leading scorer Ryan Gauld. Then the added time began with a harsh sending off, reducing them to ten men.Two more sendings off in the next five minutes reduced them to eight men, whereupon Belenenses equalised with the last kick of the game.

Those results leave Farense at the bottom, with two points from six games. Portimonense are 16th with four points.

Next weekend

Farense v Boavista on Sunday 8th November 1500hrs / 3pm at the São Luis stadium in Faro.

Portimonense travel to FC Porto, same day, Ko 1730hrs / 530pm.

Campeonato de Portugal group H games for Algarve teams if they are allowed to play

Olhanense travel to Évora, Louletano will not have a game as the odd ones out in a league now of 11.

Any news on whether supporters can attend matches in the Algarve League?Have checked the Algarve F A website but no information on it. I know Almancil is in a higher rating than the rest of the Algarve regarding Covid so won't be able to see my team Silves. However, fancy the Lagoa v Immortal game as a football fix.

An entry on the Lagoas facebook page confirms that the game today will be behind closed doors. Click the link then the item headed Comunicado.

Ferreiras have also said the same on their Facebook page.

Seems farcical that 50 - 100 people cannot go to a venue that seats ten times that many.

LAST WEEKEND'S RESULTS NEXT WEEKEND'S GAMES

Liga Nos

Farense 3 - 1 Boavista
FC Porto 3 - 1 Portimonense

First win of the season for Farense, who climb from the bottom 18th place up to 16th. They are replaced at the bottom by Portimonense. Portimonense had taken an early lead in Porto but were eventually overwhelmed. A goal either side of half time and a late third, during which time Porto had 70% possession.

No games next weekend of course, nor the week after which is set aside for the third round of the Portuguese Cup.

Next league game for Portimonense will be at home to Nacional on Sunday 29th. On the same day Farense travel to Braga.

Campeonato de Portugal group H results and fixtures for Algarve teams.

Juventude Évora 1 - 3 Olhanense
Moncarapachense 1 - 2 Lagos

Olhanense are second, nine points from four games and one point behind the leaders. Lagos are third, seven points from three games. Louletano are 9th and Moncarapachense 10th of 11 teams.

There are no full sets of fixtures until 29th November, but in the meantime Louletano will travel to Évora this Wednesday for a game in hand which will kickoff at the bizarre time of 1130am!

Then on Sunday 15th some more 'catch up' games will see Moncarapachense at home to Louletano and Lagos hosting leaders Amora.

ALGARVE LEAGUE

The Algarve League finally got going on Saturday after last week's enforced postponements.

Algarve League Division 1

Lagoa 2 - 3 Imortal Albufeira (Imortal were 2-0 down)
Almancil 1 - 0 Silves
Ass. Farense 5 - 1 Quarteirense 1937
Guia 0 - 1 Lusitano VRSA
Culatrense 2 . 1 Odíaxere
Ferreiras 1 - 1 11 Esperanças
Quarteira Sc 0 - 8 Louletano B (I bet they played the first team who were without a game in the higher league)

Next Saturday at 1500hrs / 3pm probably behind closed doors. Some clubs were able to provide internet streams for last Saturday's games. If I find out about any, I will note them here.

Imortal Albufeira v Ass. Farense
Louletano B v Quarteirense 1937
Lusitano VRSA v Culatrense
Silves v Guia
11 Esperanças v Almancil
Quarteira Sc v Ferreiras
Odíaxere v Lagoa

Algarve League Division Two

Only two games were played. Two teams, Mentes do Desporto and Sharks United, have dropped out leaving only 10 teams and a possible revision to fixtures.

Quarteirense 3 - 0 Paderne
Carvoeiro United 2 - 1 Campinense

There do not seem to be any games scheduled for next Saturday.

WOMEN'S FOOTBAL NATIONAL DIVISION TWO SOUTH GROUP

Guia 4 - 2 Atlético

Guia are second with 12 points from four games, behind leaders Sporting B on goal difference. Next Sunday they travel to Lisbon to play AD Pasteis.

Imortal v Ass. Farense this afternoon will be streamed on Facebook live which I think can be accessed via this page - https://www.facebook.com/imortalfans/posts/?ref=page_internal

The demise of some Second Division clubs has required a re-draw of the First Round of the Algarve Cup. These matches are scheduled for Wednesday 18th November, behind closed doors of course.

Sambrasense v Culatrense
Carvoeiro United v Odíaxere
Paderne v Lagoa
Ass. Farense v SC Farense
Guia v Almancil
Campinense v Portimonense SC
Silves v Imortral Albufeira
11 Esperanças v Ferreiras

LAST WEEKEND'S RESULTS NEXT WEEK'S GAMES

LIGA NOS

There were no games this weekend of course. Nor next weekend, which is set aside for the 3rd round of the FA Cup.  Portimonense will travel to Leiria on Saturday 21st. Farense's game at Estrela FC has already been put off until 3rd December.

Campeonato de Portugal Group H

On Wednesday - Lusitano Évora 1 - 0 Louletano

Sunday - Juventude Évora 1 - 3 Olhanense

The table currently shows Olhanense in 3rd place, 9 points from 4 games, Lagos 4th 7 points from four games, Louletano 7th and Moncarapachense 10th of 11 teams.

The Campeonato did not have a full schedule for next weekend because of the cup, but some games previously postponed have been scheduled. Whether or not these will take place is of course a matter of debate. But a far as fans are concerned, of no import unless their club was planning to stream the game.

At the moment, all games are scheduled for 1100am Sunday. This will allow players and officials to be travelling home 'from work' after the curfew comes into force.

4 ao Cubo v Quarteirense postponed

ALGARVE CUP FIRST ROUND

Cup results

Ass Farense 2 v 2 Farense U23 Ass Farense won 4-2 on penalties Ass Farense subsequently chucked out of the cup for a breach of rule. They were also fined €100 and a member of the coaching staff suspended for a month, so it must have been fairly serious.

Campinense 0 v 2 Portimonenese U23
11 Esperanças 1 v 3 Ferreiras
Guia 2 v  2 Almancil Almancil won 5-3 on penalties
Carvoeiro United v Odíaxere (at Parchal) postponed
Silves 4 v 0 Imortal Albufeira (oops!)
Paderne 0 v 2 Lagoa

I don't know what team Imortal put out on Wednesday, but more than likely the second choice players.

At the moment Saturday's Algarve League programme is shown as going ahead with most games at 11:00am as per previous posts.
