Cold again first thing here in Birmingham, only 8ºC, but it is going to be a sunny day here with a maximum of 16ºC.

Another sunny morning here in Birmingham, warmer than yesterday at 10ºC rising to perhaps 18ºC this afternoon! Same improvement required by Kent's cricketers today.

Hot. End September. Birmingham. Not words often uttered in the same sentence but it was yesterday and more of the same to come today. Could be 20 even 21 later.

If you are at a loose end today go and have a wander around the Jewellery quarter, it’s great on a sunny day plenty of places for eating and drinking

Bad luck Tom, your man Denly didn’t turn up did he.
If you do have time, a stroll around the canal basin and Brindley Place is good and some cracking real ale to be had.

Went to the Severn Valley railway, some good ale in the various bars, Hobson's, Enville, Dudley, even Marstons. And it was t shirt weather all day.

Colder weather coming down from the north, will be only around 15 today. I am heading south a bit later, to sunny Sussex by the sea.

Now in Eastbourne, sunny day, hardly a cloud in the sky and 16ºC forecast for later. On the beer front, it was a very acceptable pint or three of Longman bitter last night.

Bright sunny morning here in Eastbourne, but cold at 9ºC and quite windy. Expecting 14 or 15 later. No rain.

Last morning in Eastbourne before returning to warmer climes. The people with whom I am staying turned on the central heating last night. Today fairly sunny, a bit of cloud, cold at 7ºC expecting 13 or 14 later.

Just spoken to my daughter back in the UK and it's been 26 on the sunny North Norfolk coast today.
Not bad for 13th October
I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

That's correct. BBC reported 26 in Lincolnshire which I believe is the highest the Met Office have recorded this late in the year.

In the North East this morning it was persistent rain for my grandson's football and this afternoon our first team played at Jarrow in dry but very windy conditions yet but was still 22 degrees. Very odd.
