It's been over ten years now. It won't be long before it is beyond saving.

Despite trying, I did contact these agents as soon as the signs went up, I have been unable to find out if it is still owned by the bank or has been sold to developers. Either way it would be a logical approach to spend a little money on the 25 or so Villas to ready them for sale, when sold they will recoup the largest sale proceeds, presumably around €20m. This could then be used to remediate the hotel and apartment complex, in order to sell them.

A company has bought up some of the villas but doesn't seem to have sold any yet. Hardly surprising, given the state of the area as a whole.

We were up at 'oceanville today, walking past the newly painted townhouses, there was a couple inside one of them signing some paperwork & the sign that said for sale in English as been pulled up and laid to the side ,I think the one next door has also been sold there's an intercom outside & a cctv camera up high on the wall..we were also looking at one of the apartments in block (A) at the end near reception, which looks newly painted, someone must have be in there because the curtains opened half way & then closed again, really creepy, wondering why so many of the shutters are half pulled up & the rest closed.

There is an on site security presence, I think that single apartment is for that. Some of the apartments were very briefly used ten years or so ago before the site was closed down, which may explain some of the strange sights.

Extremely sad situation. You'd think something, anything, to get this property habitable!

Apparently yours for €1 if you have a few million to rehabilitate it. Rumours about its purchase come and go fairly often but nothing changes on the ground.

Looks like some of those expensive townhouses have been sold and the long neglected driveway between them has been tidied up.

Operatives have recently been busy clearing away the jungle and trimming the hedges, although rather messily. Is this because of the fire regulations, or might all the rumours about the site being sold finally be coming true?

Hi Cabsur, thanks for the update and so hope your right about the site being sold but maybe just the council forcing owners to clean up. We will be out in Pateo from tomorrow for a month so don't know if you ever have a drink at Nunos. If so would be please to meet you and thank you for all the work you do maintaining this forum and buy you a beer..

Took a walk around the other day. The jungle is slowly reclaiming the main part of the site. Three or four of the townhouses around the back have been sold and are occupied, but the majority still are empty and the 'for sale' signs are gone.

The views from up there - down into old town area.
