Go and have a poke about, it'll be in the sand somewhere!

Some pictures taken while walking from Praia da Oura to town yesterday afternoon. I am being lazy here, no captions, but I am sure most of you know the places. Order is a bit screwed!

Below - the narrow and slightly tricky section of the footpath.

Fairly busy today despite the wind and rough sea.

Gale, lunchtime today. Very hot down there, chemist says 27 our thermometer says 26, either way it seems normal June weather has resumed.

It was hot there two weeks ago Andrew but there was a pesky wind blowing sand everywhere. We couldn't keep our own parasol in place and eventually alternated with Saldagos where they had some effective windbreaks. It's a hard life

Galé beach today. Busy but not much need for parasols!

The new Pedras Amarelas restaurant under construction. They were just knocking off for lunch as I arrived.

Does anyone know how much it is to go on the inflatable obstacle course thingy and how long you get for that? Thanks in advance.

Gale East, lunchtime today.
Well, for the end of July, miles, miles less people there than previous years. Quite alarming. Praia de Gale had not one table taken at 1.00pm, O’Galelao was about 40% occupied. Where is everyone? It is much quieter here this year, even the 125 is flowing freely!
The only thing I can think of re. the beach being so underpopulated today, is the heat. Hence all the brollies! The wind dropped to a breeze and it is very, very hot. If you don’t take care you are going to get fried in this.
Anyway, Gale at lunch today...

We have stopped going to Praia do Gale since they brought in the flashy new menus and upped the prices 30% mate.

Understand that. We also don’t like the solid bench seating across the balcony which obliterates the view for all customers! What were they thinking! Yes, price hike and also staff with on off switches, sometimes you get a polite welcome, other times they wouldn’t give you the drippings off their nose!
Hence we went to O Galeao and hence at 1.00pm Praia de Gale didn’t have a single table occupied but O Galelao was about 40% full. People, including us, vote with our feet!
