It's a ranking event in the world of Beach Tennis. It also says, and I translate - "With free admission, the venue features a court dedicated to trying out the sport, promoting public contact with beach tennis and encouraging active community participation."

From December 25th to January 4th, 2026, the “Circo Nederland” will be at the Jardim Romântico, in the Albufeira Marina. (That's the area where the outdoor market used to be.)

Jugglers, roller skaters, magicians, aerial acrobatics, and the presence of mascots Stitch, Bluey, Bingo, Masha and the Bear, and the Grinch promise unforgettable moments.

The sessions take place daily at 4:00 PM, except for December 31st, when there will be no show.

Plenty of free parking. Giro buses 3,7 and 8 stop right outside.

In case you are wondering, the Christmas craft market and temporary ice rink that for many years was located in the old town square has been moved.

This year it is up to the north of the town centre next to the main outdoor market site at Caliços, up the hill on the way to the Bus Station. Much muttering among locals, but my guess is that it's been moved so that people can drive there and park next to it. Saves all that walking.

Luggage lockers are now available at the marina for those taking boat rides etc. They are located at the end from where the boats leave.

Paderne castle will be open to the public every Wednesday after a long period of closure.

You will probably need your own transport to get there. It is 3.2km (two miles) from Paderne itself. Buses to Paderne are very rare, a return trip is not even possible at the weekend.

Outward from Albufeira Bus Station to Paderne at 1235, returning at 1813, VAMUS route 4

Not an unpleasant walk by any means, along a well defined footpath mostly through wooded countryside.

If you really want to go for it, follow the alternative path along by the probably dry river, but the last stretch will be a bit steep.

Motorsports enthusiasts are set to meet in Albufeira on May 10th. The city will once again host another edition of Motofest, an event organized by the Albufeira Motorcycle Club, with the support of the Municipality and the Parish Councils of the municipality. The program includes demonstrations of starts, Freestyle Motocross and Stunt Riding shows and the World's Hottest Bifana, as well as a performance by the Pearl Band, a Pearl Jam tribute group.
