Hirers beware!!

Pinched from another forum, a warning for anyone thinking of hiring a car.

Recently booked a car through Interrent. When we returned it, we were informed that we would be charged to clean the vehicle as we had not done so ourselves! We had never heard such nonsense before. They said that they kept costs down if customers vacuumed the car themselves! They told us that we would have been told at the time that we collected the key – not true – and that the information is also on their website – which we didn’t go onto as we didn’t book directly with them but through a car rental portal that reveals the name afterwards. The car was not dirty. No pets, no smoking, no mud, no sand, no crumbs, it was perfectly clean inside and out, save for a few little bits of grass cuttings. They helped themselves to £15!! Totally scam and rip-off!
