There are still very long intervals betwen trains at certain times of the day, particularly at the small stations west of Faro, but overall the service will be better. Most trains are now shown as through trains either side of Faro, so there will be quicker journeys and more often between Albufeira and Tavira for example.

July 19th will see the long awaited introduction of electric trains along the Algarve line. A completely new timetable will be in effect. Almost all trains will be working the whole length of the lines. This will considerably speed up journeys for example between Albufeira-Ferreiras and Tavira.
