Robotic cleaner is very effective. If you worry about time consuming you can find that one, which is right for you. I've recently bought a great pool skimmer which can even filter whatever what is  https://cleanup.expert/pool-skimmer/ - about the top 1/8 inch of water . A good pool skimmer helps you to keep all leaves and other rubbish out of your pool. My parents also said that it reduces their time they spend on pool cleaning. The pools cleans whenever the filter is on - 6-8 hours a day and this filter needs 'backwashing' once or twice a week - a 3 minute job.
