Walked past an hour or so ago. The works license is valid for two years, ie until October 2020 and is for 'amplification and extension'. It doesn't say what for.

The ground floor would have been badly affected by the 2015 flood and those before.

I stayed there for a week in its last year. Very basic. I'm amazed it has been unused for so long. Not heard anything but will keep eyes and ears open when in town. Too good a site for a 'pensão' so will probably become another night club or snack bar.

Corner of the square, bottom of Liberdade ... passed a couple of times this week with my tour and they are working on the building which has been closed several years. Does anyone know if it will still be accomodation .. or maybe a new bar/restaurant ?
