It's nice and bright this morning, in contrast to recent days, mostly blue sky with just a bit of cloud on the horizon.

Temperature at 1010am is 17C, rising to perhaps 20 or 21 later. There is a chance of a shower or two later but nothing too nasty. Tonight it will be cloudy and reasonably warm at around 15 or 16C. Tomorrow and Wednesday will be showery days again and cooler than of late at perhaps 16 or 17C in the daytime, 10 or 11 at night. A fairly deep depression and a cold weather front are expected to arrive on Wednesday, bringing a spell of unsettled and wet weather for the back end of the week.

It turned out quite nice yesterday. Although a big black cloud passed to the north of us during the early afternoon, it didn't rain here and was sunny.

This morning has started rather cloudy, some of it grey. Rain is not forecast however.Temperature at 825am is 16.5C, wind is light and from the north-west.

Maximum today will be 19 or 20C, it should stay dry and the sun will be out between the clouds.

It won't be very warm tonight, down to 12 or 13C.

Heavy showers are forecast for tomorrow, lighter showers for Thursday.

Freezing and there is a whole lot of rain heading our way. I have had to put a sweatshirt on over my t shirt as the temperature outside only 14.1C at 0855am.

Skies are grey and gloomy to the south and west, where the rain is coming from. There is a light wind, so when it does rain it might not go away very quickly.

Rain is going to be with us until the weekend by the look of it. Maximum daytime temperatures no higher than around 18C and there won't be much sun to be seen. Fairly cool at night, 11 or 12C.

After a wet and windy night, it is fairly quiet at the moment. Blue sky overhead but a lot of cloud out to sea. Temperature at 1000am is 14.9C, wind is very light and coming from the south and south east. More rain is on the way for later, probably in the form of those heavy and squally showers we had yesterday. Max temperature today no higher than 16 or 17.

The rain will continue into the night and will be very heavy at times. Tomorrow should be a bit better, but still with showers around then on Saturday we will be back to heavy showers accompanied by strong winds.

Southern Portugal even got a mention on the BBC1 News weather forecast at 5.55 this morning. They reckon it's going to be very rough for the next couple of days - lots of rain, gale force winds & very rough seas.
Hold on tight Wink
I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Hopefully these rough seas & Winter storms don't erode the beaches again & undo the work of the dredger?

5.45pm and the sea looks to be calm enough for this time of the year.

Mmm... A bit concerned back here in Blighty.. Our man called to say he'd been and checked the homestead in readiness for tonight's weather, apparently gale force winds and torrential rain from late evening on.. Fingers crossed all is well, or preferably, the forecast is wrong!

It was very wild and wet last night. Strong gusts of wind with heavy, sometimes torrential, rain for most of the evening and well into the night. No thunder here though. (Further north the Europa League match between Estoril and PSV was abandoned at half time because of flooding.)

It's raining this morning, but nowhere near as hard as around 10pm last night. It's fairly cold as well, 13.4C at 0835am. There is a whole mass of showers, some heavy, swilling around to the south and west so it is going to be another very wet day. There is some blue sky out there just now but big black clouds are moving in.

Maximum today 16or 17C during breaks in the clouds. Saturday should be less worse but still with a few showers, then for Sunday we are forecast yet more heavy and thundery showers.

(I have the local news channel on in the background but so far no mention of weather or any consequences.)

Update 1615hrs - there is some fairly charming weather heading in my general direction. Temperature 15.1C.  Saturday should be less worse but still with a few showers, then for Sunday we are forecast yet more heavy and thundery showers.

It's been raining fairly hard almost all night, hard enough to get me out of bed at 630am. Right now, the sky is completely black to the south and west and a fairly unpleasant few hours look to be in prospect a bit further west - the big black bits are sliding past us out to sea and I can now see clearer skies coming in from the east. There is a large mass of rain and heavy showers to the south of us, gently swirling around.

Temperature at 0815 is 13.6C, just a light wind from the south.

Maximum temperature is almost irrelevant, 17 or 18C. Thunder and lightning are highly possible.

One all that is done, we should have some better and warmer weather, maybe later today and certainly for Sunday and Monday with sunny spells, no rain and temperature up to around 20C.
