I was told that this 'Indian' is the same management as The Curry Club was, is that correct? If it is, I'm giving it a wide berth as The Curry Club was S, H one T!
And yes, Pizza from an Indian? Sounds very authentic!

We were in the Arte bar last night when one of the Saffron staff came around putting menus on the tables, we plumped for a pizza (the Special with everything on it) which was absolutely gorgeous and big enough to fill both of us. If the standard of the rest of the menu is that good then it'll be worth a visit if Indian is your cup of tea. Oh and the pizza was only 10€

Ahh, good to know you can still choose from the main menu. If that's the case we'll go back and give them some business as the food was good. we just dont like buffets! Cheers Mystery:-)

We went on our last night when over this year in August. There is an all you can eat buffet as well as the main menu. We had food from the main menu and all thought it was brilliant. It's well worth a try. :)

Little update:-
The Cerro Grande restaurant is now call saffron. When we were over in July it was an indian restaurant where you were served at your table. the food was excellent. When we went back in August there was an enormous banner above the door saying it was an all you can eat indian buffet for €7.98!!! We didnt go, that's not our kind of thing. Has anyone else been though, I'd love to know what the food was like?

As my darling other half mystery says, it is a lovely area, very tranquil and quite. I do like the walk to the marina and the old town in the evening. The artes bar and the cerro grande are both nice as is the girasol bar, goes down great for a swift cold beer during the day. Really wish i could be there but unfortunatley have had to miss this year

Hi dizzychic, Cerro grande is a lovely area and only 10 minutes walk to Albufeira and the beaches. It is in an elevated position so the views will be stunning. You are at the end of the beach where the glass elevator is, if you don't fancy the steps. As the people who frequent Albufeira on a regular basis mention, try to get to Arte bar BBQ on a Sunday. I am defo going when I am there at the end of August, Avril beware

We have rented a villa on Cerro Grande a few times. It's a nice and quiet residental area as stated and a good walk either to the old town or marina. Wish I was going this year :(

I'm up on Cerro Grande. As ant says it is a quiet residential area about a 10 minute walk down into the old town and about the same to the Marina. It is steep but I can say that in all the years we've been there we've never resorted to a taxi yet and I'm not quite fit, not quite thin, not quite young and neither is my hubby!!! At least you don't put on any weight whilst there Artes bar is there and the bbq on a sunday is great and lots of folks from this forum go regularly. There is a supermarket which is small but stocks the essentials and a nice restaurant above it called Cerro Grande. There are one or two other local bars and shops dotted around and a few hotels where you can pop in for a drink too.
A car is not essential but useful if you want to go to the beach or to a larger supermarket.
We love it there and will be there in August for a whole month
 I hope you like it as much, have a happy holiday.

cerro grande is a residential area of albufeira, near to the marina. it is a short walk to the old town and the beach with plenty of bars and restuarants on the way. a little steep in places but you'll soon get use to it! you must visit arte-bar, they do a wicked bbq on a sunday for about €6.00

hi, been to the algarve 3 times now but always stayed in oura or sao joao area, this time we have rented a villa in cerro grande but don't really know a right lot about this area, and how big it is. any one help??
