Avoid central ones like Pescadores, specially when the tide is rising (good entertainment for kids when the water wets the unwary who are sunbathing on towels )
West beaches are good choices if you want space and quiet but some zones are used to gay cruising and nudism...
I prefer the West side of Sta. Eulália and Oura Leste (East).

Marinha beach is the nicest IMHO. When we take friends there they all say they have seen it somewhere before, its on lots of postcards, adverts etc. Its about 20 minutes drive from Albufeira near Porches. Before going down to the beach you should walk along the cliff paths to see the views..superb.

The beaches at Gale and Salgados are very big, wide and sandy so there is space to move, but after mid-day the parking is hideous of course.

Depends where you are staying. The beach at Forte Sao Jaoa between the Strip and the old town is lovely, only gets packed in August same as most beaches. There are a couple of bars serving food and drink. No need to move all day. Wish I was thereCry

Loving it in the sun

I think my favourite beach has to be Sao Rafael. It's not too crowded there, except in August it will probably get a bit busy, but other wise its amazing!

When you 'quote' you are copying the HTML (HyperText Markup Language) code with the link to the image location in the database and not the actual rendered image. HTMLis the language of every webpage. If you are bored and have about a year to spare,  read http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_intro.asp

This lot below is that quote  in fact and look for <IMG src="xxxx"/> which is a web page's way of saying 'find this picture from our database and put it here'. The bit in red is actually corrupted also.

The nicest ones are Barril and Fabrica, the last one is practically untouched.

Praia do Barril is on Tavira island, rather a long way from Albufeira.
