Anyone know anything about it, i.e when and where it starts?

It's concentrated on the parking areas outside the Cámara (town hall).

On Saturday night from 1900hrs - 2300hrs they run up and town the main road across town between the fire station and the watches roundabout.

The main event is on Sunday from 0930. From the council website "Em Ferreiras, o Rally passará às 10h00, 11h00, 12h50, e em Paderne às 10h30, 12h20 e 13h00. A entrega de prémios terá lugar no pódio em frente à Câmara Municipal, pelas 15h00."

So basically they run up and down the roads and tracks between town, Ferreiras and Paderne. I have not yet found a map showing the routes in detail. There isn't even one where there should be on the website of the club organising it! http://www.clubeautomoveldosul.pt/RALIS/ralis.html

As aside the road in front of Continente / Modelo (Rua do Municipo)  will be closed on Sunday between 0930 and 1030, also between 1130 and 1230. This is bound have a big effect on traffic.

****ing marvelous. I thought rallying was about being out in the country, not interrupting the traffic flow on a major thoroughfare in a big town.

Blooming petrol heads!

Totally agree. I'm a big rally fan and it's all about the off road, forest track stuff. Tracking up and down a tarmac town road is no more than an exhibition... if it was that which they were doing.. fair enough.
On last years showing, several of the vehicles were illegal on public roads, presumably then, for the duration, these roads are deregulated... just hope they get to the venue legally, like on a trailer.
All that said, if we were there I'd be going to have a look see.

The maps are now in place on the website. They are using very minor roads once out of town and into the hills. Presumably there is some kind of procession to get to the start.

A pleasant Sunday morning today with a walk up to parc ferme at the Camera where the air was full off the popping & banging of Evo's and the smell of high octane petrol. I strolled over to the pits and watched the activity. This included the manual refuelling under the watchful gaze of the bombeiros with full breathing apparatus, hoses, extinguishers, etc in a well kitted out LR Defender.

I didn't follow into the stages in case organisers thought I was a competitor in my Peugeot hire car!

I cannot upload pictures from my phone to the forum because of the file sizes but have experimented with OneDrive. See if this link works::-

A Mk 2 escort, is it a genuine RS2000? If so, oh my, is it for sale? I love, and always have been a Ford RS massive fan all the way back to Clarke'y... my hero, my motor...

FIA State that any rally cars on public roads must be road legal,& comply with speed limits etc.
On closed roads,& special stages this is not the case.

The one that left me with a ringing ear (I kid you not) revving his little boys toy next to me at the lights definitely didn't comply to any law regarding noise, that's for sure.

I don't mind anyone enjoying their hobby, just do it somewhere safe and suitable.
