Hi guys,
Visiting albufeira for a week at the start of July & hoping it will be a good one. There is 4 lads and 3 lasses all aged from 19 to 21. Ive got a few questions if anyone would be kind enough to answer? First of all where are the best bars/clubs to go ? What prices are we looking at paying in the big clubs and in the smaller bars? Also we are staying right next door to hotel montechoro at the top of the strip, is this far from the main bars? Is there anything that anyone reccomends doing whilst there? Thank you Jack |

I'd say it's a bit of a walk to the bars on 'the strip' that would be age appropriate. Go on google map type in your hotel name and la bamba bar and restaurant (its at the lively end of the strip) or kiss club/libertos that should give you an idea. Walk there - cab back.

For your age group i reckon the strip starts where Avenida Dos Descobrimentos and Avenida Doutor Francisco Sá Carneiro cross.
Gotta love google map |

Jack, most people your age staying in Montechoro will head for Cafe del Mar first which is just after the crossroads then head down to the places mentioned previously. You might want to stop off at a couple of the bars on the Montechoro side of the strip on the way down before, in my opinion, paying over the odds further down.

Definitely agree. Get a few cheap rounds in before heading to the strip where drinks are more expensive.

Not sure to be honest. We generally put money in a whip and buy rounds out of that. We took approx €60 euros a night and that covered dinner, drinks and cab home.
How much you need will depend on how much you drink. Meet bar in the old town serves really large measures of branded alcohol and when I say large I mean they free pour the alcohol so that it's approx half and half. My drink was so strong I had to ask for it to topped up with lemonade! |

If you are that worried about cash, have a shorter holiday, or stay home...

Del Mar is usually pretty good for the prices to be honest, the people that work there are really friendly too. Couple of places in the old town as well that are rather cheap (I found anyway) One being Vertigo. Went there quite a lot when I last stayed as a friends band play there regularly. Again, really nice staff.
And there's always the happy hour prices! |

There are still bars that do a large beer for one euro, but have a look round when you get there.

^ Very true!
Plus, if you have a look around for the prices you'll see more places :) |
