eggnchips of course you can fly out with one airline and return with another. We have done it many times. flown out with Monarch & back with Jet2, but your return flight will be priced in euros and will just be taken from your bank or credit card at the appropriate exchange rate on the day of booking. As long as you have both airline confirmations with you for both journeys you will be fine.Just remember with Jet2 that checking in online  is cheaper than booking in at the airport so don't forget to print off your boarding cards before you travel from UK. Ryanair, well online check in is more or less compulsary so don't forget to print your boarding cards also, unless you want to be ripped off.

Re Portuguese bank cards, some banks don't allow them to be used for online transactions outside of Portugal, that is maybe the reason ours won't work.

Re Jet2.We fly regularly with them and checking in online or at the airport is no different. They only charge if you have opted for on line check in and have not printed or you have lost your boarding cards or have forgotten to check in on line.

I have flown with Jet2 many times but they now charge for online & airport check in. If you check your price breakdown on the right of page you will find that if you opt for online check in the cost added for 2 persons (Flying to Faro) is £10.00 If you opt for airport check in the cost added is £36.00 so therefore more expensive to check in at the airport, whereas at one time they didn't charge anything for airport check in.

Not sure whether you already know but if you do online check in you also have the option to book your seat preferences for an extra charge or you can let Jet2 allocate them automatically for you free of charge. We have been lucky that our allocated seats have been together but I suppose there could be occasions when they may not be.

We paid £700 for 3 people, 2 adults and 1 child with baggage and seat allocation for August. My brother paid £500.00 for 2 of them and a child under 2. Did not think that was too bad. That is with Monarch - at least you can use the bag drop at Manchester.

I looked at Jet 2 which was cheaper than Monarch but once I got to the checkout wanted an extra £53.00 for a admin charge. Thought I'm not paying that so went with the Monarch flight.

£53? that seems steep, what was that for credit card charges? I always pay with visa electron card with no charges, or if we fly with monarch use debit card or electron which is also no charges. I only have the electron card  to use it for flight & accommodation bookings. Basic Halifax current account with no overdraft facility.

Snap JJ, we got an Electron card for just that purpose but to be fair to Monarch, they've since dropped charging for debit card payments.

Just been on Jet2 website was shocked, to fly from  Manchester to Faro (one way)  on 13th Sept they want a whopping £208.99 for one passenger are they kidding. Its gone up from £89.99 to this silly price, what a big increase. Where do they get their prices from?

stupid price...it's not august / midterm / christmas holidays so that price doesn't make sense. would be cheaper to fly to my dublin and go directly from here.

i want to go over for school mid term at end of october....looks like its gonna cost us 300each, our most expensive price to date! not sure how much longer i can hold out...price keeps going up!
